In baseball

Champaign Central 10, Mt. Zion 1. George Rodawig's double paced the Maroons 10-hit attack in a nonconference game played at Mt. Zion. Jake Cochrane had three hits for the victorious Maroons (12-3).

Charleston 9, Rantoul 3. Hayden Cargo had two of the three hits for the Eagles (7-6) in a home nonconference loss.

Georgetown-Ridge Farm/Chrisman 10, Armstrong-Potomac 4. Cale Steinbaugh struck out 10 to lead the Buffaloes (5-3) to a Vermilion Valley Conference road win. Dalton Loschen scored a pair of runs for the Trojans (2-9).

LeRoy 13, Ridgeview 0.  Pitcher Mason Buckles gave up only one hit for the Panthers (8-2) in a Heart of Illinois Conference home game.

Milford 14, Cissna Park 8. Klaytin Hunsinger was 3 for 4 with an RBI and Brady Marshino was 3 for 3 with an RBI for the Bearcats (6-4) in a nonconference home win. Keegan Boyle was 2 for 4 with an RBI for the Timberwolves (7-5).

Oakwood 9, Westville 7. Hurler Elijah Harden gave up only one hit and fanned four to take the VVC road victory for the Comets (7-5). Alex Schaumburg smashed two hits for the Tigers (0-14).

Salt Fork 11, Schlarman 0. Payton Taylor scored three runs, was hit by a pitch and stole two bases for the Storm (9-2) in a road VVC win over the Hilltoppers (1-7).

Tri-Valley 8, Fisher 0. Tanner Diorio had the lone hit for the Bunnies (0-11) in an HOIC loss. Jed Chow had three strikeouts for Fisher.

Villa Grove/Heritage 12, Oblong 2. Keagan Patterson fanned 10 batters in a complete-game three-hitter for the Hawks (10-5) in a Little Okaw Valley Conference home bout.

In softball

Arthur-Lovington-Atwood-Hammond 9, Arcola 2. Doubles by Molly Day and Cheyenne Chupp highlighted a four-run fifth inning for the visiting Knights (8-3) in a Little Okaw Valley Conference win. Delaney Melton and Ariana Warren scored for the Purple Riders (3-9).

Georgetown-Ridge Farm 15, Armstrong-Potomac 0. Bailee Whittaker baffled Trojan batters all afternoon, pitching a complete-game four-hit shutout for the Buffs (9-5) in a road Vermilion Valley Conference victory. Denley Heller belted a double for the Trojans (4-11).

Mahomet-Seymour 12, Urbana 1. Aubrie Shore hit for the cycle to pace the Bulldogs (8-4) in a nonconference road game. Erin Wright had two hits and scored the only run for the Tigers (5-6) in their loss.

Milford/Cissna Park 10, Chrisman 0. Brittney Bailey struck out five over six innings to earn the win for the Bearcats (5-4) in a VVC home game. Kaylee Warren homered for the Bearcats.

Oakwood 14, Westville 4. Kylie Neuman doubled and homered to pace the Comets (6-5) in a VVC road game. Gada Bryant went 3 for 3 for the Tigers (2-8) with a single, double and home run.

Okaw Valley 17, Cerro Gordo/Bement 5. Leadoff hitter Ella Mann homered and drove in two runs in a losing cause for the host Broncos (3-8) in an LOVC game.

St. Joseph-Ogden 13, Bishop McNamara 11. The Spartans (11-0) rallied for seven runs in the fifth inning to complete the comeback in a nonconference road game. Bailey Dowling and Hannah Dukeman both launched homers for the Spartans. Zoey Witruk fanned seven in a complete-game effort.

Salt Fork 15, Schlarman 0. Jordan Jones drove in four runs for the Storm (7-2) in a VVC road victory over the Hilltoppers (1-7).

Villa Grove 16-9, Palestine-Hutsonville 1-1. The Blue Devils batted around for 12 runs in the third inning to claim the LOVC victory in Game 1. Vanessa Wright homered in that outing. Reagan Cheely's home run propelled a nine-hit attack for the Blue Devils (10-0) in the second game. Wright struck out five batters as she pitched a complete game in the nightcap.

In girls' soccer

Monticello 2, Decatur Eisenhower 1. Mia Maupin scored both goals for the Sages (3-9) in a nonconference match played at Monticello. Sage goalkeeper Emmie German had seven saves.
