In baseball

Argenta-Oreana 17, Cerro Gordo/Bement 1. The Bombers rallied for seven runs in the seventh inning in a Little Okaw Valley Conference game played at Cerro Gordo. Kyle Rigsby homered for the Bombers (9-7). Tyler Joplin scored the only run for the Broncos (6-10).

Blue Ridge 12, Arthur-Lovington-Atwood-Hammond 2. Blue Ridge (7-10) batted around for eight runs in the third inning, powered by an Aaron Jayne home run and a Jacob Mozingo double, to throttle ALAH (12-6) in an LOVC battle between two Knights played at Farmer City. Scott McClain doubled for ALAH.

Bismarck-Henning/Rossville-Alvin 10, Milford 4. Chase Rademacher homered for the Blue Devils (15-5) in a Vermilion Valley Conference game played at Milford. Tanner Sobkoviak connected for two hits for the Bearcats (10-7).

Fisher 4, Ridgeview 3. After starting the season with 18 straight losses, the Bunnies (1-18) got in the win column against the Mustangs in a Heart of Illinois Conference game played at Colfax. Hunter Coon had two hits and scored a run for the Bunnies.

Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley 5, Rantoul 4. The Falcons (13-3) rallied for four runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to win a nonconference game played at Gibson City. Ethan Garard doubled and tripled for the Falcons. Braden Roesch led GCMS with two hits in three at-bats. Nolan Roseman had a three-bagger for the Eagles (10-8).

Herscher 10, Watseka 0. Matthew Canady doubled for the Warriors (6-12) in a nonconference setback.

LeRoy 6, Lexington 1. Colin Meyer drove in two runs to pace the Panthers (15-3) in an HOIC game played at Lexington.

St. Joseph-Ogden 8, St. Thomas More 0. Hurler Keegan McCarty fired a complete game three-hit shutout and struck out 10 batters to lead the Spartans (17-6-2) to victory in an Illini Prairie Conference game played in Champaign. Adam Rose and Jaden Miller both scored a pair of runs for the Spartans. The Sabers dropped to 2-14.

Salt Fork 6, Oakwood 5. Facing a 1-2 count in a tie game in the bottom of the seventh, Chase Schmidt came through with an RBI single for a walk-off VVC victory for the Storm (13-2). Koby Fletcher, Noah Ruch and Jacob Spear each hit a two-bagger for the Comets (11-8).

Schlarman 3, Georgetown-Ridge Farm/Chrisman 1. Pitcher Cole Carnahan struck out 10 batters for the Hilltoppers (5-10) in a VVC game played in Danville. Cale Steinbaugh smashed a double for the Buffaloes (7-6).

Sullivan 3, Clinton 2. Kanin Elder went 2 for 3 with a double to pace the Redskins (4-14) in a Central Illinois Conference game played at Clinton. Dalton Rogers struck out nine batters for Sullivan. Drew Stacey had a pair of hits for the Maroons (6-6).

Tuscola 18, Warrensburg-Latham 0. Haden Cothron, Cade Kresin and Brayden VonLanken each homered for the Warriors (20-2) in a CIC game played at Tuscola. Warrior hurler Logan Tabeling dominated on the mound, getting 11 of the 12 outs in his four innings of work by way of strikeout. Cothron swiped two bases for Tuscola.

Westville 9, Armstrong-Potomac 2. Bryce Burnett and Luke Johnson both drove in runs during a four-run fourth inning to give the Tigers (1-21) their first victory of the season in a VVC game played at Westville. Trey Bryant got the win, fanning 11 batters and walking one. Dalton Loschen led the Trojans (2-13) with two hits in four at-bats.

In softball

Armstrong-Potomac 21, Westville 18. Denley Heller hit two solo home runs and pitched a complete game to help the Trojans (8-13) win a Vermilion Valley Conference slugfest at Westville. Kayla Roe had three hits and five RBI, Jess Goulding had three hits and four RBI and Grace Reynolds had four hits and four RBI for A-P. Desiree Darnell went 5 for 6 with two doubles and two RBI, and Maizy Lawnicki went 3 for 4 with two doubles and two RBI for the Tigers (3-13).

Arthur-Lovington-Atwood-Hammond 16-15, Blue Ridge 0-0. ALAH (16-6) swept a Little Okaw Valley Conference doubleheader with two shutouts of Blue Ridge (12-8) at Farmer City. Shelby Frederick fired a no-hitter for ALAH in the first game. Makenzie Brown pitched a no-hitter in Game 2.

Clinton 5, Sullivan 3. The Maroons (6-12) held off a three-run rally in the seventh inning by the Redskins (5-9) to win in a Central Illinois Conference game played at Clinton. Elly Maier ripped a triple for Clinton. Pitcher Morgan Wallace took the loss for Sullivan.

Georgetown-Ridge Farm 21, Schlarman 7. Sophia Ashby tripled, stole a pair of bases, scored three runs and drove in three runs to pace the Buffs (14-6) to victory in a VVC game played in Danville. Cece Damilano hit a home run for the Hilltoppers (1-14).

LeRoy 22, Lexington 2. Lynsee Clow managed to drive in seven runs on two hits to lead the Panthers (14-8) in a Heart of Illinois Conference game played at Lexington. Clow drove in runs on a walk in the first, a single in the second, a home run in the third and a walk in the fourth. Meanwhile, Charly Warlow fanned seven batters for the Panthers.

Milford/Cissna Park 4, Bismarck-Henning/Rossville-Alvin 3. Jordin Lucht doubled and Brittney Bailey tripled for the Bearcats (10-6) in a VVC game played at Milford. Aniston Myers had three hits for the Blue Devils (11-8).

Olympia 13, Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley 0. Dani Eckerty singled in the second inning as part of a losing cause for the Falcons (10-6) in a nonconference game played at Gibson City.

St. Joseph-Ogden 17, St. Thomas More 0. Hannah Dukeman drove in four runs with a single in the first and a home run in the third to help the Spartans (15-5) humble the Sabers (0-12) in an Illini Prairie Conference game played in Champaign. Bailey Dowling also homered and hurler Sophie Martiage struck out six batters for the Spartans. Emily Ritter smashed a double for the Sabers.

Salt Fork 3, Oakwood 0. Hailey Hunter pitched a complete-game two-hitter to lead the Storm (12-5) to a VVC victory. Aubrey Wells and Kylie Neuman garnered the two hits by the Comets (9-12).

Tuscola 6, Warrensburg-Latham 1. Ashton Smith blasted a home run for the Warriors (23-1) in a CIC game played at Tuscola. Jessie Martin got two doubles while Claire Ring and Taylor Musgrave also had a two-bagger for Tuscola.

Unity 12, Urbana 2. Elyce Knudsen, Jalyn Powell and Morgan Steinman each hit home runs to help the Rockets (20-3) earn their 20th win of the season in a nonconference game played at Tolono. Ezri Vesely had two hits for the Tigers (7-9).

In boys' tennis

Centennial 9, Danville 0. Jared Thomas, Thomas Scaggs, Jung Bae and Tyler Tucker won in both singles and doubles for the Chargers in a Big 12 Conference match played in Champaign.

Normal Community 8, Urbana 1. Ivan Mineyev had the only victory for the Tigers in a Big 12 match played in Normal.

In track & field

At Champaign. Champaign Central defeated Tuscolaand Mattoon 90-47-44 in a three-school meet at Harold Jester Track. Reece Jacobson won both the 100- and 200-meter dashes, Paxton Schrader captured the 400 run, Alex Strack won the 800 run and Kyle Treakle took the 1,600 meters for the Maroons. Central's Kai Baumgartner won both hurdles events and the triple jump, Tashawn Bulter won the high jump and Ben Schultz took the long jump. Tuscola's C.J.
