In boys' basketball

At Washington. CLAYTON JONES had 19 points and CORVON BUTLER had 16 for Champaign Central, which dropped a 76-59 decision to unbeaten Montgomery (Ala.) Carver in the Tournament of Champions. Jones hit two three-pointers. JORDAN CAROLINE added eight points for the Maroons (1-2), who play at noon today against the loser of the Peoria Notre Dame vs. Belleville East game.

At Tri-County. Georgetown-Ridge Farm beat Tri-County 64-49 and Salt Fork 46-40 to win the Hayden's Turkey Tourney. KORIE VIRE had 14 points and KYLE COBURN 12 in the Buffaloes' win against Salt Fork. Tourney MVP MATTHEW HAY poured in 30 points and all-tourney pick Vire added 23 (four three-pointers) as G-RF pulled away in the second half against the Titans.

At GCMS. JOHNNY JONES scored 25 points and TRAVIS BRITT added 20 to lead Rantoul to an 82-46 victory against GCMS. The Eagles, who will face Bismarck-Henning in tonight's title game, hit 11 three-pointers. SAM JOHNSON scored 20 for the Falcons. Bismarck-Henning defeated Blue Ridge 74-28 behind 20 points apiece from TANNER RIBBE and KRYSTIAN INGRAM. IAN BRISCOE scored 21 points in Prairie Central's 49-46 victory against Tri-Point. JOHN TAYLOR had 13 points in Heritage's 42-38 loss to Roanoke-Benson.

At Galesburg. P.J. BLISSIT scored 13 points but Urbana couldn't recover from a slow start in a 62-37 loss to Moline. The Tigers trailed 16-5 after one period and were limited to 10 field goals. Blissit had 19 points in the Tigers' 54-49 loss to Galesburg. BRANDON GLASS added 10 points.

At Lincoln. DENNIS HIGHTOWER's 24 points, 12 rebounds and four steals couldn't prevent Danville's 90-74 loss to Seton Academy. The Vikings suffered from 27 turnovers and did not make a three-point field goal. Seton had nine three-pointers. DONTE INGRAM added 14 points. Centennial lost to Lincoln 60-51 despite 17 points from TAYLEN ALEXANDER. The Railsplitters took command with a 19-5 advantage in the second quarter. MICHAEL FINKE and LUKE VAUGHN added nine points apiece.

At Schlarman. BLAKE WATSON scored 20 points and four Schlarman players reached double figures, but the Hilltoppers fell to Hutsonville 72-68. LUCAS SPEZIA hit five three-pointers and scored 17 points. MIKE CARDONA had six points in Chrisman's 70-24 loss to Paris.

At PBL. BRANDON COTTLE scored 17 points as Armstrong-Potomac beat Oakwood 66-51. The Trojans got 15 points from LUKE GERNAND. LEWIS IRVIN had 13 and DJ DAVIS 12. DAKOTA ZENNER had 17 points in PBL's 49-42 loss to Tri-Valley.

At Hoopeston. BEN WALL had 18 points and seven rebounds, and Iroquois West held Donovan to 11 second-half points in a 44-42 victory. KYLE POOL contributed 11 points and five assists. LeRoy outscored Hoopeston Area 14-8 in overtime for a 70-64 victory. NICK AUPPERLE led four Panthers in double figures with 19 points. SETH WARD chipped in 17. MASON LAYDEN paced the Cornjerkers with 27 points and ROSS LANGE added 17.

At Cumberland. BOBBY LANCE scored 10 points in Shiloh's 53-38 loss to Oblong.

At Jacksonville. BRAD HERRMANN had 18 points and REID FARCHMIN 14 but Mahomet-Seymour lost to Pleasant Plains 63-57. BRAD IZATT had 11 points and six assists.

In girls' basketball

At Fithian. JAMIE BLUE scored 20 points and EMMA HOYER added 13 as Urbana Uni beat Shiloh 45-38 to win the McDonald's Comet Classic. Both were named to the all-tourney team. LARISSA MOSES scored 20 for the Raiders. In the third-place game, Milford topped Heritage 55-49 as SAMANTHA WILKEN scored 23 points. DALLAS McCORMICK led the Hawks with 17. Blue Ridge beat Oakwood 50-28 for fifth place behind 20 points from JACQUELYN O'NEAL. JAMISON BRANDT added 11. MAKENZIE BAKER scored 16 for the Comets. BRITTANY HAY scored 11 of her 22 points in the first quarter as G-RF spurted to a 53-24 victory against Hoopeston Area in the seventh-place game. CALLAN HALL had six rebounds for G-RF.
