Wednesday's higlights: Lehmann shines

In boys' swimming & diving

At Champaign. Blake Lehmann won individual titles in the 100-yard butterfly and 100 backstroke, leading Champaign Central to a 113-72 victory against Bloomington.

Lehmann, who also was part of two winning relays (200 medley, 200 freestyle), clocked 54.32 seconds in the 100 fly and 58.87 seconds in the 100 back.

The Maroons also received individual victories from Evan Miller (50 free), Sam Stewart (100 free) and Caleb Plattner (100 breaststroke).

 

In boys' basketball

Blue Ridge 69, Fisher 65. Michael Plunk and Tucker Johnson each scored 19 points, leading the Knights to victory at the Heart of Illinois Conference/McLean County tournament in Lexington.

Blue Ridge will play Heyworth for the consolation championship at 7 p.m. Friday.

The Bunnies were led by Taw Fredrickson, who scored a game-high 27 points.

 

In wrestling

At Normal. Unbeaten Cameron Mammen, competing at 170 pounds, earned a 13-2 major decision, but Urbana lost 55-18 to Normal West.

Xavier Lindsey (132) won 17-2 by technical fall for the Tigers.

 

At Clinton. JORDAN BUTLER (113) earned two victories by pinfall in dual meets against St. Thomas More and Lincoln.

Butler pinned his Sabers opponent in 35 seconds and his Lincoln opponent in a minute.

Kye Reczek (170) and Jamie Williams (195) also posted pins for the Maroons, who lost 39-36 to St. Thomas More.

The Sabers received a pin from Luc Bequette (220).

In Clinton's 46-30 loss to Lincoln, Brett Murphy (132) won by pin in 1:36.
