Friday's highlights: Chrisman ends 21-game skid

Boys' basketball

Arthur 59, Bement 41. ANDREW MAXWELL and CURTIS PLANK each scored 12 points to lead the host Knights. CONNOR GROSS scored a game-high 22 points for Bement.

Urbana University 72, Normal Calvary 53. The host Illineks got 21 points from BRANDON LIN (five rebounds) and 16 from JOSEPH SONG (seven rebounds, five steals) in the victory. EZRA WINTER-NELSON and TAHAR BOWEN-PINTO each added 10 points.

Cornerstone Christian 70, Buckley Christ Lutheran 20. Casey Schmidt had 10 points and seven rebounds to lead host BCL.

Chrisman 65, Hoopeston Area 52. The visiting Cardinals broke a 21-game losing streak and got 17 points from TY BOLEN and 16 from CHRIS HOULT. DANIEL LAWSON poured in 29 points for the Cornjerkers, who also got 15 points from MASON LAYDEN.

B-H 65, Schlarman 32. Bismarck-Henning went on a 24-4 run in the second and third quarters in the road win. TANNER RIBBE had 16 points for the Blue Devils, STEPHEN KROUT added 14 and CHASE CONNELLY 11. AUSTIN CALHOUN paced Schlarman with 10 points.

Ridgeview 53, GCMS 31. The host Mustangs shut out Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley 11-0 in the first quarter. BROCK HEIMER had 14 points in the win and eight teammates also scored. WILEY HASTY led GCMS with nine points.

G-RF 64, Westville 29. MATTHEW HAY scored all of his game-high 19 points in the first three quarters as host Georgetown-Ridge Farm rolled. KORIE VIRE had 13 points and KYLE COBURN chipped in 12 in the win. LAYN WHITE led Westville with eight points.

Sullivan 38, Tuscola 34. MICAH PLANK and MITCH MOLZEN each scored 13 points for the Redskins in an Okaw Valley Conference tournament consolation game. DAN YOAKUM led the Warriors with 11 points.

A-O 58, Clinton 51. KEEGAN McHOOD scored 17 points and JESSE WITTS added 13 to lead Argenta-Oreana in an OVC tournament consolation game. DYLAN SCOTT (12 points) and NICK THOMPSON (10) led the Maroons.

Milford 54, Armstrong-Potomac 45. MAX McCABE scored a career-high 19 points while WYATT ALT added 12 points and 10 rebounds to power the host Bearcats. The Trojans were led by WADE ROGERS (10 points). LUKE GERNAND added nine points and BRANDON SPARKS had eight for A-P.

Mahomet-Seymour 51, Pontiac 45. The host Bulldogs prevailed behind 17 points from GARRET RISLEY and 12 from CLAY KIBLER.

Rantoul 63, Prairie Central 58. TRAVIS BRITT led the visiting Eagles with 19 points and JOHNNY JONES added 13. The Hawks got 21 points from LANE MAURER and 20 from ADDISON BOUNDS.

Heritage 66, Arcola 54. KEATEN KALK and CHANCE LEMMON each scored 18 points to lead the visiting Hawks. Arcola was led by BRETT LINDENMEYER (16 points).

Oakwood 65, Salt Fork 57. CAMERON LEE scored 15 points and ZACH GIRTON added 13 for the visiting Comets in the overtime victory. ROSS LEARNARD led the way for the Storm with 14 points.

Girls' basketball

South Piatt 73, Martinsville 38. Visiting South Piatt outscored Martinsville 43-16 in the second half and were led by SABRINA HINTON-TUCKER and ASHLEY WISE with 19 points apiece. ELYSE HARRIS added 16 points and ALEX MILLER 10.

Danville First Baptist 4, Pekin Christian 15. JESSICA GREER scored 12 points and Holly Greazer added 11 for First Baptist.
