Tuesday's prep highlights: Elliott sparks Comets
Oakwood 56, Chrisman 37. The host Comets got five threes from KYLE ELLIOTT, who scored a game-high 20 points. CAMERON LEE added 16. Chrisman was led by CHRIS HOULT (10 points).
Rantoul 59, Eureka 46. The host Eagles took a 29-13 lead into halftime and were led by TRAVIS BRITT's game-high 17 points.
Martinsville 77, Atwood-Hammond 55. ANDY WEBB scored a game-high 26 for the host Rajahs. PHIL IRACE (four threes, eight rebounds) and KYLE WIERMAN each scored 12.
Okaw Valley 79, Arcola 48. The host Purple Riders, who trailed 55-26 at the half, got 14 points from BRETT LINDENMEYER.
Shiloh 52, Villa Grove 47. COLE BOGLE scored 17 points while CYRUS FURGESON added 13 and ANDREW DONITHAN had 10. The Blue Devils were led by RYAN PEARCE (19 points) and LUCAS VANDEVENTER (17).
Armstrong-Potomac 40, Schlarman 36. The host Trojans won behind 14 points from WADE ROGERS and 10 from SHAY FITZSIMMONS. ALEC NEAL scored 11 for the Hilltoppers.
Paxton-Buckley-Loda 56, Blue Ridge 39. The host Panthers limited Blue Ridge to six fourth-quarter points and got a game-high 20 points from TANNER HARRIS. DAKOTA ZENNER (12 points) and GAUGE SNIDER (10) also chipped in.
Danville 63, Mattoon 45. DENNIS HIGHTOWER's 19 points paced the hosts. JARON CUNNINGHAM contributed 12 and DONTE INGRAM 10.
Salt Fork 57, Georgetown-Ridge Farm 50. The visiting Storm got 22 points from ROSS LEARNARD and 20 from MAX STUTSMAN. KORIE VIRE (19 points) hit four threes for the Buffaloes.
Cerro Gordo 97, Lovington 55. The visiting Broncos outscored Lovington 69-35 in the second and third quarters and nailed 12 three-pointers in the rout. CODY WOOLLEN hit seven threes (six in the third quarter) en route to scoring a game-high 26 points. TIM WEAVER added 17, and AUSTIN CRIST scored 12.
Ridgeview 48, Deer Creek-Mackinaw 36. TREVOR McINTOSH led the way with 15 points for the host Mustangs.
Bismarck-Henning 44, Hoopeston Area 27. CHASE CONNELLY had 18 points and TANNER RIBBE added 10 to lead the visiting Blue Devils. MASON LAYDEN scored 14 for the Cornjerkers.
Westville 54, Milford 49. ROBERT ELLIOTT scored 23 points and KYLE BRAZAS 18 to lead the host Tigers. Milford got 15 points from WYATT ALT.
Heritage 62, Bement 52. JOHN TAYLOR (15 points) and BRANDON RICHARDSON (12) powered the visiting Hawks. CONNOR GROSS scored a game-high 32 for Bement.
Arthur 37, Tri-County 34. TYLER SCHURING scored a team-high 13 for the host Knights.
Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley 72, Watseka 62. The host Falcons picked up their second win of the season behind 22 points from SAM JOHNSON and 14 from JAKE JOHNSON. DAULTON DePATIS led Watseka with 17 points.
Maroa-Forsyth 46, Argenta-Oreana 33. The visiting Bombers were led by TYLER ROACH (nine points) in a losing effort.
Normal U-High 71, Mahomet-Seymour 60. Four players reached double figures for the host Bulldogs, led by REID FARCHMIN's 15 points, but it wasn't enough against the fourth-ranked (Class 2A) Pioneers. GARRETT RISLEY added 14 points, BRAD HERRMANN had 11 and CLAY KIBLER 10.
Sullivan 51, Tuscola 32. The host Redskins jumped to a 30-15 halftime lead and got a game-high 23 points from MITCH MOLZEN. MICAH PLANK added 12. DUSTIN HAAKE had 21 for Tuscola.
