Friday's prep highlights: Jones delivers for Rantoul

In boys' basketball

Rantoul 65, Olympia 49. The visiting Eagles, who started the second half on a 10-0 run to pull away, got 16 points from JOHNNY JONES and 13 from C.J. MORRIS. TRAVIS BRITT added 11 and KELLY FOSTER 10.

Bloomington Central Catholic 54, Mahomet-Seymour 46. BRAD HERRMANN scored 19 points for the host Bulldogs.

Tuscola 43, Clinton 40. The host Warriors prevailed, thanks to a desperation three-pointer at the buzzer by DAN YOAKUM. DUSTIN HAAKE (16 points) and CODY PANKAU (15) paced the Tuscola scoring attack. MITCH CREAGER scored 17 for the Maroons.

Bismarck-Henning 81, Milford 47. ANDY BOTT (17 points) and STEPHEN KROUT (13) each drilled three three-pointers to power the host Blue Devils, who led 34-4 after the first quarter. AUSTIN TOLER added 14 points and TANNER RIBBE 11. WYATT ALT scored 16 to lead the Bearcats.

Salt Fork 42, Chrisman 27. The host Storm didn't allow a first-quarter point and got a team-high 14 points from ALEC DUTTON. The Cardinals were led by TY BOLEN (16 points).

Oakwood 45, Westville 29. The visiting Comets got 23 points from CAMERON LEE.

Georgetown-Ridge Farm 65, Armstrong-Potomac 59. RYAN DIEU scored 18 points to lead a balanced attack for the visiting Buffaloes. MATTHEW HAY (15 points), KORIE VIRE (13) and KYLE COBURN (10) also reached double figures. SHAY FITZSIMMONS (15 points) and WADE ROGERS (14) paced the Trojans.

Monticello 65, St. Teresa 58. NICK STOKOWSKI (26 points, 13 rebounds) recorded his 10th double-double of the season to power the host Sages, who got 12 points and six assists from DALY O'BRIEN.

Arthur 60, Villa Grove 37. CURTIS PLANK scored 12 of his 18 points in the first quarter to lift the visiting Knights. ANDREW MAXWELL (12 points) also chipped in. Villa Grove was led by LUCAS VANDEVENTER and RYAN PEARCE, who scored 10 points apiece.

Martinsville 74, Shiloh 55. NATHAN HAYNES scored 13 points and COLE BOGLE had 11 for host Shiloh.

Heritage 64, Tri-County 52. The visiting Hawks, who jumped to a 17-2 lead after one quarter, got a game-high 28 points from JOHN TAYLOR. Four players reached double figures for the Titans, led by DAKOTA KIRCHNER and DOUG FINDLEY, who each scored 12.

Paxton-Buckley-Loda 38, Clifton Central 35. DREW SCHRODT scored 15 points and DAKOTA ZENNER added 10 to power the visiting Panthers.

Momence 51, St. Joseph-Ogden 48. The visiting Spartans got 25 points from Chase Patton.

Cerro Gordo 83, Arcola 75. TIM WEAVER poured in a game-high 38 points, including five three-pointers, to power the visiting Broncos. DEVIN McWILLIAMS added 13 and AUSTIN CRIST had 11. COREY ROBERTS (25) and MARTY THOMAS (17) paced the Purple Riders.

Hoopeston Area 60, Schlarman 55. MASON LAYDEN poured in 30 points to lift the visiting Cornjerkers. DANIEL LAWSON added 13 and BRENNAN CROSE had 10. The Hilltoppers got 14 points from AUSTIN CALHOUN and 13 apiece from ALEC NEAL and BLAKE WATSON.

Iroquois West 55, Watseka 44. KEATON ZIRKLE's 28 points paced the visiting Raiders. DAULTON DePATIS led Watseka with 13.

Urbana University 59, LaSalette 53. JOSEPH SONG scored 17 points while SIMEON WASHINGTON added 14 and TAHAR BOWEN-PINTO 10 to lead the host Illineks. ISAAC DAILEY scored 13 and JORDAN RIGI 12 for the Lions.

Sullivan 62, Argenta-Oreana 52. The visiting Redskins were paced by MICAH PLANK (24 points) and TANNER TYPER (11). A-O got 15 points from DYLAN SUNDERLAND and 11 KEEGAN McHOOD.

In girls' basketball

Pana 52, Sullivan 37. EMILY NEUHAUSER scored nine points for the Redskins at the Class 2A Macon Regional final.
