Athletes of the Week: Cross and Ribbe

Chelsea Cross

Centennial, Junior

Basketball

Recently: In her first two games back after being sidelined with pneumonia, she made 18 of 23 field goal attempts and totaled 36 points as Centennial repeated as a Class 3A regional champion.

In her words: "It was major for me because I wanted to play so bad. It was important for me to drink a lot of water in order to get myself back in condition because I knew we were going to go far."

I'm driving ... I don't have a car yet. I'm in the process of looking. I want a Toyota Camry.

I need concert tickets to ... Drake.

In five years, I'm ... hopefully in medical school majoring in nursing.

The best thing about being an athlete at Centennial ... Playing with a bunch of great players. I've been playing with them for a long time. The coaching staff is amazing.

Favorite subject ... Mathematics

Recently: Helped B-H go 13-0 in Vermilion Valley Conference play (all wins by at least 13 points), scoring a game-high 21 points in the regular season finale.

In his words: "We work really hard; that always helps. We've put the pieces together this year, and we've done pretty well."

Favorite athlete ... Derrick Rose

Best thing about Bismarck-Henning ... It's a great place to go to school. Everybody is nice to everybody.

Next year ... I'm hopefully playing college basketball somewhere.
