Saturday's prep highlights: Edwards propels Arcola

In girls’ basketball
Arcola 49, Oakwood 26. TAYLOR EDWARDS poured in 21 points, grabbed nine rebounds and added three steals and four assists to power the visiting Purple Riders.

Armstrong-Potomac 34, Urbana Uni High 20. The host Trojans got a team-high 17 points from MORGAN ZINDARS. EMMA HOYER scored 17 points for the Illineks to go along with 11 rebounds, four blocks and two steals.

Okaw Valley 42, Argenta-Oreana 39. KANDI BLOCH scored a game-high 23 points for the visiting Bombers.

Rantoul 45, Fisher 22. The visiting Eagles got a game-high 21 points from HANNAH WASCHER in the win. Fisher was led by SYDNEY BLACKWELL’s eight points.

Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond 48, Sullivan 44. SHERELLE COLLER (14 points, seven assists) and EMILY SEEGMILLER (12 points) powered the host Lancers. Sullivan got six three-pointers and a game-high 28 points from EMILY NEUHAUSER.

Judah Christian 51, Christ Lutheran 27. KRISTINA LEE scored 17 of her game-high 27 points in the first half to power the Tribe. LESLEE CHAMBERS added 10.

Cerro Gordo 66, Judah Christian 34. ARIONNA GANT scored 20 points and JESSICA BLUNT added 15 to power the Broncos. Chambers led the Tribe with 20.

Shelbyville 56, Christ Lutheran 26. OLIVIA JANSSEN (11 points) and ANDREA DeBELLA (10) starred in the loss.

Danville 48, Urbana 22. The visiting Vikings got 24 points, five steals, four rebounds and three assists from ALEXUS JIMSON-MILLER. LYNETTE BUGGS added four points and 11 rebounds. KARIDIA SHELBY led Urbana with 11 points and eight rebounds.

Tuscola 42, Villa Grove 34. The visiting Warriors got a game-high 15 points from SUSAN PONDER and 13 from ERIN WEAVER. LIZZY SMITH paced Villa Grove with 13.

Champaign Central 44, Bloomington 38. The visiting Maroons improved to 4-2 behind 20 points from LAURA LITCHFIELD and a season-high 13 from AIRIANA SMITH.

St. Thomas More 69, Bishop McNamara 54. LEXI WALLEN (21 points, 10 rebounds), TORI McCOY (13 points, 11 rebounds) and RANDA HARSHBARGER (14 points, 10 steals) led the way for the Sabers, who led by as many as 28 in the fourth quarter. JADE BRINKOETTER added 10 points.

Chrisman 49, Milford 33. The host Cardinals got 13 points, three steals and three assists from SARAH ELLIS in the victory. CHEY WARNER added 10 points while SHELBY WARNER added six points and a team-high 10 rebounds.

St. Joseph-Ogden 57, Westville 35. ASHLEY LANDIS poured in 18 points and BAILEY TRIMBLE chipped in 13 to lead the visiting Spartans. ASHLEY BEALS contributed nine points and 15 rebounds. ASHLEY HOFFMAN led Westville with 16.

Georgetown-Ridge Farm 67, Arthur Okaw Christian 27. BRITTANY HAY scored 20 points and MAYA GREEN added 13 to pace the Buffaloes, who led 40-10 at halftime. KAMI TABER had 10 for AOC.

In boys’ basketball
St. Joseph-Ogden 65, Westville 46. NATE MICHAEL had 17 points and BRENT SCHLUTER added 13 to power the visiting Spartans. ROBERT ELLIOTT and JEFFERY THOMPSON each had 10 for Westville.

Pleasant Plains 63, Monticello 37. The Sages got 16 points and seven rebounds from NICK STOKOWSKI in the defeat.

Chrisman 66, Milford 34. CHRIS HOULT’s 13 points paced a balanced Cardinals attack. TY BOLEN, CHASE ANDERSON and TYLER LUNGER had 12 points apiece to lead the hosts.

Arthur Okaw Christian 55, Georgetown-Ridge Farm 38. ISAIAH LOWRY scored 15 points and pulled down 17 rebounds to power AOC, which got 11 points from ADAM BEACHY. KYLE COBURN’s eight points led the Buffaloes.

Centennial 66, Peoria Central 52. MICHAEL FINKE (20 points, seven rebounds), DEDRIC BYRD (16 points, four assists) and LUKE VAUGHN (10 points, 10 rebounds) lifted the Chargers at the St. John’s Shootout in Springfield.

In wrestling
At Fairbury. Prairie Central earned wins against Coal City, Dwight and Monticello, getting three pinfall wins each from BEN TRAUB (138 pounds) and BRETT BENNETT (285).

Monticello’s DYLAN KNISLEY had four wins for the Sages, who won twice (Dwight, Grant Park).

Argenta-Oreana, which beat Dwight and Grant Park, got four pinfall wins from KLAYTON RODGERS and three from NATE JOZSA.

At St. Joseph. AUSTIN UPTON (182), JORDAN HARTMAN (220) and RYAN KOSS (285) all picked up three wins for the Spartans, who won two duals (Danville, Urbana).

Urbana 120-pounder CHANCE McQUEEN picked up four victories for the Tigers, who defeated Danville.

LeRoy went 4-0, getting four wins apiece from AUSTIN MATLOCK, D.J. MORGAN and TY SANDY.

In boys’ swimming
At Urbana. PARKER ARNHOLT (200 freestyle, 500 freestyle), JON DELZELL (50 free, 100 free) and LUCAS MILLER (100 breaststroke, 100 butterfly) all won two individual events to lead Danville to a win against Urbana.
