Athletes of the Week: Weaver and Seaman

Recently: Followed up a 15-point, eight-rebound game with a 14-point, 12-rebound game in which she hit the 1,000-point mark in her career.

In her words: “A lot of people didn’t think we’d be 7-1 at this point. It’s awesome to be able to prove some people wrong.”

Recently: Hit a late basket to break a tie and lift the Purple Riders to a 49-47 win against Stewardson-Strasburg. Against Urbana Uni High, his three-pointer with 0.8 second left enabled Arcola to pull out a 59-58 win.

In his own words: “I didn’t really expect to do this coming in as a freshman. I didn’t even know if I’d start. It’s pretty cool.”
