Monday's highlights: Villa Grove's Smith hits milestone in win

In girls’ basketball:
Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond 63, Heritage 47.
The visiting Lancers got a game-high 23 points from KARLY GOODMAN and ASHLEY TABB added 11 in the win. Heritage was led by DALLAS McCORMICK (20 points) and MARY HAPP (13).

Ridgeview 34, Lexington 21. JENNA AYERS’ 12 points, six rebounds and three steals led the visiting Mustangs to a win.

Cissna Park 47, Judah Christian 27. The Timberwolves got 14 points and 11 rebounds from MADISON OVERBEY in the road victory. The Tribe got 14 points and five steals from KRISTINA LEE.

LeRoy 63, Monticello 45. LAUREN RUSSELL scored a game-high 21 points while SHANNON STEFFEN added 14 points, six rebounds and four assists in leading the visiting Panthers. CHRISSY GADBURY (11 points) and ELISE PONTIOUS (10) led the Sages.

Unity 46, Urbana University 25. The Rockets picked up the road win behind 12 points from KENNEDY HARTMAN. Uni was led by EMMA HOYER’s 14 points, eight rebounds and four blocks.

Arcola 44, Chrisman 21. TAYLOR EDWARDS (three rebounds, eight steals) and CARA EDWARDS (six rebounds, four steals) each scored 13 points to power the Purple Riders at home. SHELBY WARNER and JORDYN LUNGER each scored six for Chrisman.

Shiloh 56, Okaw Valley 21. SHELBY SMITH’s 14 points, six rebounds and five assists lifted the Raiders to a win at home. BETHANY McGINNESS added 10 points and four steals while LAUREN MOSES contributed eight points and eight rebounds.

Salt Fork 57, Oakwood 39. The host Storm jumped out to a 34-18 lead at the half and got 11 points from JENNY KIMBRO and eight from KALYN LEARNARD. Oakwood’s HARLENA HARDIN scored a game-high 14 points.

Mahomet-Seymour 37, Urbana 25. The host Bulldogs jumped out to a 24-12 halftime lead and got a game-high 16 points from MAGGIE SCHMIDT. Urbana’s JESSICA MACK poured in 15 points.

Villa Grove 55, Cerro Gordo 46. COURTNEY HELM recorded a double-double with 19 points and 11 rebounds as the Blue Devils prevailed at home. LIZZY SMITH scored 16 points to eclipse the 1,000-point mark for her career for Villa Grove, which also got 10 points from ALIX EZELL. Cerro Gordo’s ARIONNA GANT had 16 points.

Mount Pulaski 71, Argenta-Oreana 34. KANDIE BLOCH scored 16 for the Bombers in the home defeat.

El Paso-Gridley 55, Clinton 52. JESSICA SCOTT and MEGAN TOOL each scored 12 points for the visiting Maroons in the loss. MORGAN HICKMAN added 10.

Georgetown-Ridge Farm 55, Westville 35. The host Buffaloes got 17 points apiece from CALLAN HALL (15 rebounds, seven assists) and BRITTANY HAY (11 rebounds, six assists, five steals) in the victory. MAYA GREEN chipped in 13 points. COURTNEY GABEHART scored 11 to pace the Tigers.

Tri-County 78, Martinsville 35. AMBER MEYER scored 18 points while AUTUMN MEYER added 10 points and eight rebounds to lead the visiting Titans. KYLA SKINNER (12 points, seven steals) and ABBY SMITH (10 points, 11 rebounds) also contributed.

In boys’ basketball:
Schlarman 63, Iroquois West 42.
AUSTIN CALHOUN poured in 27 points with nine rebounds and ANDREW KELLEY added 19 to power the Hilltoppers at the Watseka Holiday tournament. KEATON ZIRKLE led the Raiders with 18 points.

Momence 66, Milford 63. The Bearcats lost in overtime at Watseka but got 18 points from ALEX PORTWOOD and 17 from JACOB ROBERTS.

Watseka 56, Hoopeston Area 54. DAULTON DePATIS (17 points) and AUSTIN BLAIR (15) powered the host Warriors. The Cornjerkers got 18 points from DANIEL LAWSON and 15 from BRENNAN CROSE.

Chrisman 61, Olympia 43. TY BOLEN scored 11 of his game-high 23 points in the first quarter in leading the Cardinals to a win at the Leader Classic in St. Joseph. Teammate CHRIS HOULT added 17 points.

Cissna Park 40, Westville 28. COLE HASSELBRING scored a game-high 18 points, with 10 coming in the first quarter, to lift the Timberwolves to a win at the Leader Classic. ALEX RABE added 11. ROBERT ELLIOTT scored 11 to lead Westville.

La Salette 60, Urbana University 44. PRESTON GARNO had 17 points and JOSEPH CROUSE added 11 to lift visiting La Salette. TAHARKA BARAKA led the Illineks with 20 points and seven boards. PATRICK WONG (11 points) and GEORGE VOULGARIS (10) also chipped in.

Decatur Christian 61, Cerro Gordo 60. COLE BLICKENSDERFER scored 21 points, NATHAN LOVEKAMP had 17 and COLE TENNEY added 10 for the host Broncos, who lost in overtime.
