VILLA GROVE GIRLS’ BASKETBALL
The Blue Devils (21-7) won three LOVC games in four days to complete an eight-game sweep of league opponents en route to their first conference crown in the sport. Kayla Dowler hit three-pointers in each game. Courtney Helm had five treys, and Alix Ezell hit three for the week. Dowler and Ezell are juniors.

BLUE RIDGE BOYS’ BASKETBALL
The Knights (16-8) earned two come-from-behind wins in three days, rallying from an 11-4 first-quarter deficit to beat Deer Creek-Mackinaw and then overcoming an 11-point fourth-period deficit against a Tri-Valley team it had lost to earlier, on Michael Plunk’s buzzer-beating three-pointer from halfcourt.

✰✰✰
GEORGETOWN-RIDGE FARM GIRLS’ BASKETBALL
The Buffaloes (20-4) won three Vermilion Valley Conference games in the final week to secure a share of first place in the league with Schlarman. Maya Green nailed three-pointers in each game, and Brittany Hay had back-to-back 27-point outbursts for the school’s first 20-win team since 1991. G-RF was 11-2 in VVC games.

✰✰
PRAIRIE CENTRAL BOYS’ BASKETBALL
The Hawks (14-7) gained revenge for an early-season loss to Corn Belt Conference rival Pontiac by handing the Indians a 35-27 loss. Prairie Central senior Kyler Hoffman scored a game-high 15 points and hit eight of those in the final quarter. In the last eight minutes, PC outscored visiting Pontiac 15-8.

MAHOMET-SEYMOUR WRESTLING
The Bulldogs (22-8), champions of the Corn Belt Conference, finished second in the team race to Big 12 kingpin Bloomington in the nine-school M-S Class 2A Regional. Each of the top two teams qualified 10 individuals for sectionals, which start Friday at Mattoon. M-S’ champs were Derek Grant (152 pounds) and Jordan Geese (285).
