For the ninth time in the past 12 years, the Vikings captured the Big 12 Conference indoor league crown. The Sabers (1-0) opened with a shutout victory against Urbana Uni High, scoring both of their goals in the first half. Keeper Lexi Wallen didn’t allow any of the Illineks’ shots to cross the goal. Louisette Lukusa had a goal and an assist. Jade Brinkoetter had a goal, and Grace Lamb had the other assist.

The Spartans (29-5) brought home the fourth-place trophy in their first venture to the state finals. In a semifinal loss to eventual champion Harrisburg, SJ-O fell behind 10-0 but regrouped for a fourth-quarter lead. The future looks bright. This season’s JV was 20-0 and the freshman were 20-1.
