Athletes of the Week: Menacher, Wallen

Brendan Menacher
Monticello, senior, wrestling

Recently: Won all four matches (two with pins in less than a minute) and posted his 100th career win (in 137 matches) with an 8-3 championship-match decision against Grant Park’s Kevin McNally at 182 pounds in Argenta-Oreana’s Bomber Classic.

In his own words: “I felt good going into the championship match. I’ve been in championship matches before, so nerves weren’t a factor. I was more anxious. I wanted to get it (100th win) out of the way, and it was cooler that it was in the championship match and not the first or second round.”
