Recently: Won the Twin City championship at 126 pounds and clinched the Chargers’ team title by moving up one weight class and registering a pin in the last bout against Champaign Central, his 83rd career triumph.

In his own words: “I knew from the get-go we’d have to play the lineup carefully to beat them, but I found out at the last minute I’d be the last match. I was ready for anything and couldn’t ask for a better end to the regular season.”

Toughest opponent I’ve gone against ... Matthew Brewer of Lincoln

My favorite professional team is ... the Chicago Cubs.

After a match, I’m drinking ... a protein shake.

My pet peeve is ... stepping on my brother’s Legos in the morning.

In five years ... Graduating from Illinois with a degree in engineering

Centennial High is ... a really diverse environment with a lot of good teachers and groups of people I can relate with.

Recently: On the third of three games (and three wins) in three days, set a school single-game record with 15 assists against Buckley Christ Lutheran while also reaching the 1,000-point mark for her career Saturday with a first-half three-pointer.

In her own words: “I wasn’t expecting the record. It wasn’t even on my radar. It was a day to remember and a weekend to remember with Senior Night on Friday. It was a fun time for me but also for my teammates.”
