In boys' basketball

Sangamon Valley Conference Tourney

Momence 50, Cissna Park 44. The Timberwolves went down in the title game of the SVC Tournament, despite 16 points from Christian Stadeli and 10 points from Tannor Benoit.

South Newton (Ind.) 56, Iroquois West 21. The Raiders were soundly defeated in the fifth-place game of the SVC Tournament, with Jack McMillan's seven-point showing pacing the IW offense.


Champaign Central 68, Glenwood Chatham 50. Grand Canyon University signee Tim Finke (20 points) and Jonte Coleman (18 points) led the host Maroons to a nonconference win.

Uni High 67, Cerro Gordo/Bement 43. Noah Blue poured in 26 points and Van Gunderson hauled in 13 rebounds in leading the host Illineks to a win. Wes McDermith scored 16 points for the Broncos.

In girls' basketball

Monticello 59, Prairie Central 32. Zanna Myers (22 points) and TatumMcCall (13 points) led the Sages past Prairie Central for an Illini Prairie Conference win. Olivia Weber dropped in eight points for the Hawks.

Normal West 52, Danville 36. Erin Houpt (16 points) and Mikala Hall (13 points) couldn't lead the Vikings to a Big 12 victory. The Vikings were outscored by the Raiders 18-8 in the third quarter.

Peoria Central 57, Centennial 54.The Lions outlasted the Chargers in overtime, despite 26 points from Centennial standout Shoentera Russell.

Peoria Manual 64, Champaign Central 57. Adeola Badmos and Chanice Willis scored 22 points and 20 points, respectively, in the Maroons' road loss to Big 12 rival Manual.

Unity 63, Chillicothe IVC 38. ElyceKnudsen's near-triple double (22 points, nine rebounds and nine assists) led the Rockets to a road triumph. JordyCurtis and Hannah Rutledge chipped in 15 and nine points, respectively.

Victory (Ind.) 37, Arthur Okaw Christian 27. AOC fell despite eight-point efforts from both LylaKauffman and Anna Houk.
