In girls' basketball

Champaign Central 81, Centennial 36. The visiting Maroons rolled to a win, with Chanice Willis scoring a game-high 22 points for Central (16-12) and teammate Morgan Browning adding 16 points. Alayah Biggers (19 points) led Centennial (1-24).

SJ-O, Cissna Park boys' hoops earn No. 1 postseason seeds

St. Joseph-Ogden and Cissna Park have received top billing among local Class 1A and 2A boys' basketball programs in their respective postseason tournaments.

The IHSA on Thursday afternoon released seeds for small-school teams, with the Spartans (17-7) and Class 1A No. 2 Timberwolves (22-3) ranking best among area outfits.

Cissna Park 42, St. Anne 20. A day after experiencing a tough nonconference loss at state-ranked Teutopolis, Cissna Park rebounded with a convincing nonconference win. Keegan Boyle sank four three-pointers to account for all of his game-high 12 points for the Timberwolves (22-3), while Christian Stadeli finished with 10 points.

Arcola 53, Blue Ridge 37. The host Purple Riders won in Little Okaw Valley Conference Northwest action as Myles Roberts (18 points) and Kaleb Byard (11 points) led the way for Arcola (10-17). Nick Burrowscored 13 points for Blue Ridge (12-14).

St. Joseph-Ogden girls inside AP hoops poll's top four

St. Joseph-Ogden girls' basketball climbed within the top four of its state rankings, the last to be issued with postseason play beginning earlier this week.

Associated Press polls released Tuesday will serve as the final ratings for Class 1A and 2A girls' hoops programs.
