The man who helped guide the Spartans to a 2016 Class 2A state title will serve as the South coach in today's Class 1A/2A Illinois Basketball Coaches Association All-Star Game in Pontiac.

All-Star game features local hoopsters

PONTIAC — The Illinois Basketball Coaches Association announced its 2018 boys' and girls' All-Star rosters on Friday and will feature 11 area players.

On the boys' end, Monticello's Calvin Fisher and Luke Stokowski join St. Joseph-Ogden's Jordan Brooks on the Class 1A/2A South roster. Former SJ-O coach Brian Brooks will serve as the team's head coach.

STM hires new boys' basketball coach

A former Champaign Central boys' basketball assistant coach will become the new boys' basketball coach at St. Thomas More.

STM athletic director Josh Hinkley announced the hire on Monday. Anderson comes to STM after spending the previous two seasons as the boys' basketball coach at La Salette, a private school in Georgetown.

MAHOMET — Ryan Bosch had an enjoyable Monday night, to say the least.

It was party time for Bosch’s son, Jackson, as the youngster turned 5 years old. And Bosch simultaneously was able to celebrate something else: officially becoming the next Mahomet-Seymour boys’ basketball coach.
