A look around the area prep scene:


– Salt Fork's MAT BOWEN fired a 1-under par 35 for medalist honors as the Storm beat Schlarman 160-238 at Blue Needles. Teammate DAVID KEENAN was second with a 36. Schlarman's JORDAN KING was third with a 43.

– KYLE POOL carded a 39 to tie for medalist honors at Shagbark in Onarga. ZACH GUENETTE led Watseka with a 43.

– EMILY BAILEY (51) was medalist for Watseka in a loss to Iroquois West. CRYSTAL MEDINA and MARIAH SCHAEFER led the Raiders, each shooting 52.

– St. Thomas More's AARON PINKERTON (42) was medalist but Bismarck-Henning edged the Sabers by 2 strokes at Harrison Park. STEPHEN KROUT (43), ANDY BOTT (44), AUSTIN TOLER (45) and DEVIN HENDRICKS (46) led the Blue Devils. PETE FOX had a 44 for the Sabers.

– MEGAN DEEDRICH's 38 was a personal best and good for medalist honors as St. Thomas More beat Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley 75-188 at Stone Creek. KELSEY GALLIVAN (41) had her personal best for the Sabers. St Thomas More's SIERRA MYERSCOUGH shot 45 to tie for third place with GCMS's EMILY SPANGLER and KATIE SPANGLER.

– Mahomet-Seymour's AMBER TABAKA (44) was the medalist as the Bulldogs won a triangular. CHARLOTTE GOSS was second.

– Mahomet-Seymour's DREW VANNOY and Monticello's ZACH SMITH shot 38 to tie for medalist honors. LOGAN HANNON's fifth score of 47 broke a tie and gave M-S the win. ANDREW LAWSON shot 39 for the Bulldogs, who also got a 40 from GRANT DUKEMAN. DREW HEFFLEY (39) and NICK HUISINGA (40) led the Sages. LeRoy's JACOB WOHLWEND had a 40.

– AUSTIN MAXWELL shot a 46, WILL DUGGINS a 47 and CURTIS GHENT 48 for Blue Ridge at Woodlawn Country Club.

– Medalist C.G. FACER shot a 39 and MICHAEL THOMPSON a 41 to lead Urbana to a 175-178 win against Rantoul/Paxton-Buckley-Loda at Urbana Country Club. BROCK PEAVLER (40) and JACOB FRERICHS (42) went low for the Eagles.

– LeRoy's MOLLY MARCUM (44) was medalist against Monticello. LeRoy's ANNA DEAN and Monticello's EVELYN BRAND each shot 48 to finish second.


– MONICA PRITCHARD and STEPHANIE AGUAS won their singles matches and teamed to win in doubles for St. Thomas More in a 6-3 win against Mount Zion. MADDIE BAILLON, JIWON YOON and MARA FALLON also won in singles.
