Tuesday's highlights: Cox stars for M-S; STM girls show depth

In boys' golf

At Danville. ANDY BOTT fired a 2-under 70 at Turtle Run to earn medalist honors in leading Bismarck-Henning to a win against Danville.

The Vikings were led by TYLER ELLIS, who shot a 79.

At Monticello. DALY O'BRIEN's 38 was good enough to earn medalist honors for the host Sages in a triangular with first-place Maroa-Forsyth and runner-up Clinton at Monticello Golf Club. Clinton got a 41 from COREY WISHER.

At Normal. Mahomet-Seymour finished third at the 22-team Raider/Redbird Invitational at D.A. Weibring Course thanks to a third-place individual finish by GARRETT COX, who shot a 74. JARED ATHERTON (77) finished tied for 15th for the Bulldogs along with St. Thomas More's AARON PINKERTON. The Sabers were 13th.

At Fillmore. Ridgeview's KRIS TRHLIK fired a 4-over 74 to claim medalist honors for the host Mustangs in the Ridgeview Invitational at Indian Springs.

Fisher's JAKE WARMOTH (77) finished second in the eight-team event.

Blue Ridge was fourth thanks to AUSTIN MAXWELL's 91. Fifth-place Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley got an 86 from CHRIS WITTEMAN.

In girls' golf

At Saint Anne. St. Thomas More (341) won the Doc Keller Invitational at Oak Springs thanks to a 2-3 finish from KELSEY GALLIVAN (83) and SIERRA MYERSCOUGH (84). McKENZIE STIPES (86) and ALEXIS FREUND (88) also finished in the top 10 for the Sabers.

EMILY SPANGLER of Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley won the event with a 78. The Falcons, who got a top-10 finish from MIKAYLA WOODWARD (92), were second (364) in the five-team event.
