Monday's highlights: Romo nets hat trick for Storm

In boys' soccer

Champaign Central 3, Hoopeston Area 0. Tim Hamm, Juan Garcia and Emanual Komba scored for the Maroons in a home win. Garcia, a freshman, was making his varsity debut.

St. Thomas More 7, Iroquois West 0. Goalkeeper Danny Vetter recorded his fourth shutout of the season and Dan Shin had two goals and two assists to lead the Sabers to a Sangamon Valley Conference tournament win at Gilman. Senior midfielder Alex Sabol scored his first career goal and contributed two assists.

St. Joseph-Ogden 3, Clifton Central 0. Colin Seward had a goal and an assist for the host Spartans in a Sangamon Valley Conference tournament match. Kyle Roedl recorded eight saves in the shutout performance and Cameron Harpst contributed two assists to the win.

Salt Fork/Westville 5, Fisher 0. Jordan Romo's hat trick and Alex Burke's two goals propelled Salt Fork/Westville to a victory at Catlin. Aaron Marks made 12 saves in securing a shutout. Fisher's Darren Eckerty finished with 15 saves.

Judah Christian 4, Decatur Lutheran 0. Daniel Kurz had two goals and an assist for the Tribe in a win at Savoy. Alec Henderson added a goal and an assist.

Arthur-Lovington 3, Unity 1. Anthony Hettinger, Jovany Martinez and Evan Seegmiller scored for A-L in a home victory. Goalkeeper Matthew Robinson contributed 10 saves toward the win.

In volleyball

Centennial 2, PBL 0. Kara Johnson's seven kills and six service aces lifted the host Chargers to a 25-17, 25-19 win. Rachel Jones contributed six kills to the victory. Kandace Hofer led the Panthers with seven kills.

Argenta-Oreana 2, Atwood-Hammond 0. Alexa Jones had three blocks and three service aces for the host Bombers in a 25-17, 25-17 win. Alex Stupek added eight digs and two kills for A-O.

Tuscola 2, Villa Grove 0. Mackenzie Seip and Hannah Scribner combined for seven kills for the visiting Warriors in a 25-12, 25-19 win. Katie Douglas had three blocks for Villa Grove.

Bismarck-Henning 2, GCMS 0. The visiting Blue Devils won 25-10, 25-11 behind Abby Bergman's seven kills and seven digs. Morgan Gerbsch added nine digs for B-H.

Chrisman 2, Shiloh 0. Bridget Mattingly had eight digs, four assists and one service ace for the Cardinals in a 25-23, 25-20 home win.

Bement 2, Judah Christian 0. The visiting Bulldogs won 25-19, 25-22 behind Maddie Mann's five kills and Taylor Wegrich's seven digs. Emily Gewirtz had 11 digs for the Tribe.

Sullivan 2, Arcola 1. The Redskins rallied for a 21-25 25-19 25-16 road win behind Emily Neuhauser's four kills and eight digs. Taylor Wallis had 15 assists and seven digs for Sullivan, while teammate Haylie Payton produced 16 digs.

In boys' golf

At Urbana. St. Thomas More edged Monticello by 1 stroke for the title of a four-team meet at Stone Creek Golf Club. Nick Berger of Judah Christian, Tyler Vodacek of STM and Tyler Taylor of Monticello topped the leaderboard with 39s.

At Loda. CPCI's Shane Irby earned medalist honors with a 42, but Watseka won the dual meet 190-194 at Lakeview Golf Course. Neil Rhoades paced the Warriors with a 44.

At Hoopeston. Andy Bott and Austin Toler each shot 41s to lead Bismarck-Henning to victory in a five-team meet at Hubbard Trail Country Club. David Warren placed third with a 42 for the Blue Devils, who finished 38 strokes in front of runner-up Iroquois West.

At Gibson City. Led by medalist Preston Young's 46, GCMS had three of the top five scorers to capture a three-team meet at Railside Golf Club. Devyn Roesch of the Falcons tied for second with a 49. GCMS finished 5 strokes ahead of Tri-Valley.

At Sheldon. Jacob Katavich shot a 43 to lead Salt Fork to second place in a three-team meet at Shewami Country Club. Courtney Lafoe and Lane Weston each carded 47s for the Storm.

In girls' golf

At Hoopeston. Lindsey Luehrsen shot a 48 to earn medalist honors for Iroquois West. The Raiders faced Hoopeston Area, which did not field a full team.

At Gibson City. Katie Spangler of GCMS won medalist honors by 2 strokes, but the Falcons finished last in a three-team meet at Railside Golf Club. Spangler carded a 46.

In girls' tennis

At Champaign. Imani Maatuka and Shivani Jain combined for a 9-8 win at No. 2 doubles to give Champaign Central its lone team point in an 8-1 loss to Bloomington.
