Wednesday's prep highlights: Centennial tennis cruises

In girls' tennis

At Champaign. Emily Lydic won her singles and doubles matches, leading Centennial to a 9-0 victory against Decatur Eisenhower. Lydic claimed her No. 1 singles match 6-1, 6-0 and teamed with Sophie Kim to win their No. 2 doubles match 8-0. Allison Hansen and Lauren Neitzel won their No. 1 doubles match 8-0.

At Mattoon. The Green Wave swept the match 9-0, but Champaign Central's Shivani Jain and Imani Maatuka were competitive at No. 2 doubles, falling 8-5.

At Paris. Madie Baillon won her matches at No. 1 singles and doubles for St. Thomas More, which defeated Paris 6-3. Alyssa Vodacek won at No. 2 singles and No. 1 doubles.

In volleyball

Sacred Heart-Griffin 2, Urbana 1. Alayna Jackson had 12 kills for the host Tigers in their 21-25, 25-10, 25-18 loss. Taylor Lovett recorded 18 assists, and Cate Hummel chipped in 10 digs.

Jacksonville 2, Champaign Central 0. MIA McDONALD had 17 assists for the visiting Maroons in their 25-18, 25-17 loss. MADDIE LeGRANDE had seven kills, jaelyn Westfield five and KAILYN DEMITH four.

At Schlarman Classic. Dana Mitchell had 35 assists, one ace, four kills and three digs, leading Chrisman to a 25-12, 25-13 victory against Salt Fork and a 23-25, 25-16, 25-18 victory against Paris. Kelsey Potter contributed 11 kills, two aces and three digs, and teammate Brett Bishop recorded 14 kills, five aces and three blocks. Abby Bush had eight kills and three digs in the victories, and Bridget Mattingly posted six digs, four assists and two aces.

In girls' golf

At Savoy. Centennial's Katelynn Martinez had a 47 to lead her team in a meet against Mount Zion and Normal West at the University of Illinois Blue Course.

In boys' golf

At Saybrook. Ridgeview's Joey Trhlik carded a 37 to win medalist honors and lead his team to first place in a three-team meet at Indian Springs Golf Course. Alec Merritt and Austin Percy each shot 48s to pace Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley, which placed second.

At Fairmount. Salt Fork's Jacob Katavich shot a 44 to earn medalist honors and lead the Storm to victory against Villa Grove at Blue Needles.

At Clinton. Kip Barber carded a 43 to pace the Maroons at Clinton Country Club in a meet against Lexington and Meridian.

In boys' soccer

At Champaign. St. Joseph-Ogden defeated Watseka 2-0 in a Sangamon Valley Conference tournament match.
