Monday's highlights: Urbana soccer tops rival

In volleyball

Urbana 2, Springfield Southeast 0. Chelsea Skinner and Alayna Jackson each had five kills for the Tigers in a 25-22, 25-22 road win. Jessica Mack contributed seven digs for Urbana (6-8).

St. Thomas More 2, Unity 0. The visiting Sabers won 25-23, 25-20 behind LEXI WALLEN's double-double (14 kills, 11 digs). McKenzie Martin had four kills and three blocks for the Rockets.

Watseka 2, Fisher 0. The Warriors swept visiting Fisher 25-16, 25-21 behind Taylor Bauer's 12 kills and Kat Grimes' 18 assists and three service aces.

Central A&M 2, Arcola 0. Taylor Edwards had eight kills and nine digs for the Purple Riders in a 25-23, 25-14 home loss.

Herscher 2, Cissna Park 0. Hillary Hines had five kills and five blocks for Cissna Park in a 25-20, 25-22 home loss.

Urbana Uni High 2, Decatur Christian 0. Emma Hoyer belted nine kills for the Illineks in a 25-16, 25-10 home win.

PBL 2, Armstrong-Potomac 0. The Panthers won on the road 25-11, 25-18 behind AMANDA YPYA's eight kills. Rachel Miles paced A-P with five kills and nine digs.

Clifton Central 2, GCMS 0. Allyson Barnes and Taylor Boma each had six digs for the Falcons in a 25-18, 25-13 road loss.

Schlarman 2, North Vermillion (Ind.) 0. The Hilltoppers improved to 7-1 with a 25-17, 25-11 home win fueled by Jordan Marganski's seven kills, five blocks and 11 digs. Janelle Marion had 18 digs for Schlarman.

Tri-County 2, Casey-Westfield 0. Kyla Skinner had nine kills and Autumn Meyer totaled 15 digs for the Titans in a 25-16, 25-18 home win. Amber Meyer contributed 20 assists and four blocks for Tri-County (15-2).

Arthur-Lovington 2, Atwood-Hammond 1. A-L rallied to pull out a 19-25, 25-14, 25-15 road win behind KARLY GOODMAN's 12 kills and three blocks. Teammate ASHLEY TABB added nine digs.

Sullivan 2, Beecher City 0. Witten Crawford had 11 kills and Emily Neuhauser added 10 digs for the Redskins in a 25-15 25-19 home win.

In boys' soccer

Urbana 2 Champaign Central 1. Trailing 1-0 at halftime, the host Tigers rallied behind goals by Miguel Fierro and Jonathan Lukusa to edge the Maroons. Daniel Kadema scored for Central on a penalty kick.

Judah Christian 1, BCC 0. Alec Henderson's second-half goal, on an assist from John Kuak, lifted the Tribe to a home win.

Monticello 4, Olympia 0. Matt Menacher scored three goals in the first half for the Sages in a road win. Luke Hanselman had Monticello's other goal and assisted on two more. Sages goalkeepers stopped four shots, with starter Isaac Schumacher recording three saves while playing into the 55th minute.

Crosspointe 2, Danville First Baptist 1. Isaac Van Raden scored a second-half goal for the Knights in a home loss.

In boys' golf

At Rantoul. Led by medalist Christian Khachaturian's 34, Centennial had four of the top five scorers in a 158-190 victory against Rantoul/PBL at Brookhill Golf Course. Runner-up Brock Peavler of Rantoul/PBL shot a 37.

At Gibson City. Preston Young of GCMS shot a 42 to tie for third in the Falcons' 164-184 loss to Dwight at Railside Golf Club.

At Danville. Medalist Austin Toler and two teammates captured the top three spots, lifting Bismarck-Henning to victory in a three-team meet at Harrison Park Golf Course. Toler carded a 35, 1 stroke in front of David Warren and 2 ahead of Andy Bott. Chase Henry shot a 38 to pace runner-up Westville.

At Onarga. Clark Fink shot a 38 to earn medalist honors and lead Iroquois West to second place in a three-team meet at Shagbark Golf and Country Club. Will Ailey of third-place Milford tied for second with a 39.

At Monticello. Riley Thompson of Champaign Central shot a 38 to edge Monticello's Tyler Taylor by 1 stroke for medalist honors, but the Sages captured the dual meet 164-173 at Monticello Golf Club.

At Sullivan. Medalist Lucas Mossman shot a 40 for runner-up Sullivan in a three-team meet at Sullivan Country Club. Noah Yantis led third-place Arcola wiht a 47.

At Decatur. Judah Christian had the top four scorers and rolled to a 170-217 victory against Decatur Lutheran at Hickory Point Golf Course. Nick Berger of the Tribe was the low scorer with a 37 — 3 strokes in front of Ryan Erhard.

At Loda. Medalist Kyler Hoffman shot a 39 and teammate Lincoln Slagel tied for second place with a 41, leading Prairie Central to victory in a three-team meet at Lakeview Country Club. Tyler Jacobs paced runner-up Ridgeview with a 41. Shane Irby was Cissna Park's low scorer with a 46.

In girls' golf

At Gibson City. Katie Spangler shot a 50 and won medalist honors by 7 strokes, leading GCMS against Dwight at Railside Golf Club. Dwight lacked enough entrants to qualify for a team score.

At Onarga. Lindsey Luehrsen of Iroquois West shot a 43 to win by 3 strokes in a three-school meet at Shagbark Golf and Country Club. The Raiders took the team title when Milford and Donovan were unable to field enough entrants to qualify for a team score.

At Charleston. Janice Choo of Champaign Central tied for second place with a 50, but the Maroons lost to Charleston 197-229.

At Pontiac. Brooklyn Hildreth and Amber Tabaka of runner-up Mahomet-Seymour shot 48s to tie for fourth place in a four-team meet at Pontiac Elks Golf Course. Jenna Hale of third-place Prairie Central also carded a 48.
