Wednesday's prep highlights: STM earns SVC soccer crown
In boys' soccer
St. Thomas More 1, SJ-O 0. Wiley Jones and Sangwon Park each converted penalty kicks, giving give the Sabers the victory in the Sangamon Valley Conference championship match.
STM keeper Danny Vetter posted his 11th shutout of the season. The Sabers (12-2) have outscored area opponents 49-1 this season.
Centennial 2, Springfield 1. Lexi Hall had 19 assists, leading the host Chargers to a 21-25, 25-10, 25-14 victory. Lauren Cloyd contributed six kills, and Rachel Jones tallied nine kills for Centennial (15-2).
In girls' golf
At Gibson City. LeRoy's Annie Crumbaugh claimed medalist honors with a 50 at Railside in a three-team meet that included Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley and first-place Iroquois West. The Falcons were led by Katie Spangler's 52. The Raiders were paced by Lindsey Luehrsen and Gwen Orr, who each carded 53s.
At Tuscola. Janice Choo shot a 53 to lead first-place Champaign Central in a match against Tuscola and Paris. The Warriors were led by Tiffany Davis (56).
At Sullivan. Emmalee Hortenstine led Sullivan with a 50 in a dual match against Effingham at Sullivan Country Club.
At Bloomington. Megan Tsevelekos (45) was Blue Ridge's top scorer in a match against Tri-Valley at The Links.

At Sullivan. Lucas Mossman and Kent Taber each carded 45s to lead Sullivan in a three-team meet at Sullivan Country Club that included first-place Effingham and Meridian. The Redskins and Meridian tied for second place.
At Gibson City. Iroquois West's Kameron Wilken earned medalist honors with a 43 at Railside in a four-team meet that included first-place Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley, LeRoy and Fisher. The Falcons were paced by Devyn Roesch and Preston Young, who each shot 44s. Clark Fink added a 44 for Iroquois West, which lost by 4 strokes.
At Urbana. Mahomet-Seymour's Blake Jackson and Kyle Ozier each carded 38, leading the Bulldogs to first place at Stone Creek Golf Club. St. Thomas More, which finished second in the match that also included Tri-Valley, was paced by Chris Tate, Jesse Dankle and Tyler Vodacek, who each shot 39.
At Danville. Rantoul/PBL's Brock Peavler claimed top honors with a 39 at Danville Country Club. Schlarman, which won the team title, was led by Mason Combs (40).
At Loda. Milford's Will Ailey and Jordan Schippert shared top honors after carding 46s at Lakeview Country Club in a dual match against Cissna Park. The Timberwolves were led by Ryan Peters (49).
In girls' tennis
At Normal. Champaign Central's Brenda Gonzalez won her No. 6 singles match 6-3, 6-4, but the Maroons lost 8-1 to Normal West.
