Tuesday's highlights: Blue Ridge golfers take title
In boys’ golf
■ At Saybrook. Led by four players who finished in the top nine, Blue Ridge won the eight-team Ridgeview Invitational by 4 strokes at Indian Springs.
Mason Potts tied for third after firing an 80, and Cory Jayne (fifth, 81), Dylan Weidner (sixth, 82) and Will Duggin (ninth, 85) also chipped in for the Knights, who edged Bloomington Cornerstone Christian, 328-332.
Devyn Roesch shot an 83 and tied for seventh for fifth-place GCMS.
Fisher, which was led by Jake Hobbs (102), was seventh.
The host Mustangs finished eighth, led by Grant Townsend’s 94.
■ At Danville. Andy Bott (35), David Warren (39) and Noah Campbell (42) swept the top three spots, leading Bismarck-Henning to a 26-stroke victory against Danville at Turtle Run.
The Vikings were led by Reed Krynski, who shot a 43.
■ At Normal. Mahomet-Seymour, led by a trio of 80s — good for a tie for 32nd place — from Logan Hannon, Mitchell Hockman and Alex Marcusiu, tied for ninth at the 21-team Redbird/Raider Classic at Weibring Golf Course.
Champaign Central was 19th, and St. Thomas More was 21st.
Riley Thompson shot 85, tying for 64th for the Maroons.
STM’s Chris Tate shot an 80, tying for 32nd.
In girls’ golf
■ At St. Anne. St. Thomas More’s Caroline Dodds finished 4 shots out of first place, taking second with a 41, at the Doc Keller Invitational at Oak Springs Golf Club.
Watseka’s Drew Grimes was fourth with a 44.
STM was fourth at the seven-team event, Watseka was fifth and GCMS sixth.
