Monday's highlights: Giannetti's four goals pace Unity

In boys’ golf

■ At Gibson City. GCMS had four of the top six scorers and won a three-team meet by 11 strokes over runner-up Fieldcrest at Railside Golf Club. Devyn Roesch and Preston Young of the Falcons tied for second place with 42s — 2 strokes behind the winner.

In girls’ golf

■ At Atlanta.
Led by medalist Emily Trolia, Mahomet-Seymour had the top three scorers and rolled to a 204-232 victory against Olympia at North Greens Golf Course. Trolia shot a 43, followed by teammates Maddie Birckbichler (49) and Keegan Gagne (51).

■ At Farmer City. Evelyn Brand of Monticello and Megan Tsevelekos of Blue Ridge shared medalist honors with identical 40s, but superior depth carried the Sages to a 187-211 victory at Woodlawn Country Club. Kendyl McFarland (42) and Madeline Diniz (51) of Monticello placed third and fourth, respectively.

■ At Gibson City. Emily Allen’s 52 led GCMS to second place in a three-team meet at Railside Golf Club. Allen finished third, 2 strokes behind the medalist.

■ At Fairbury. MEgan Rafferty, Gera Reis and Sarenity Ashba each shot 61s for Prairie Central in a 202-246 loss to Pontiac at Indian Creek Golf & Country Club.

In volleyball

■ St. Thomas More 2, Monticello 1.
The Sabers took control in the third set to pull out a 25-23, 24-26, 25-13 home victory behind Lexi Wallen’s 14 kills. Courtney Wax (10 kills) and Hannah Murray (18 assists) aided in the win. Mallory Becker had eight digs for Monticello.

■ Bement 2, Judah Christian 0. Abby Trott recorded 16 assists and 12 digs to lead the host Bulldogs to a 26-24, 25-21 victory. Maddie Mann contributed seven kills and eight digs to the win. Emily Gewirtz racked up 16 digs for the Tribe.

■ Cissna Park 2, St. Anne 0. The host Timberwolves won 25-10, 25-12 behind Addy Stoller’s seven kills and three blocks. Anna Kaeb added 15 assists for CP.

■ PBL 2, Oakwood 0. Kailey Kleinert’s five kills and four service aces lifted the host Panthers to a 25-11, 26-24 win. Jori Maynard had eight digs for PBL.

■ Bismarck-Henning 2, GCMS 0. Mary Bass belted 10 kills to help the Blue Devils fend off the visiting Falcons 25-20, 25-23. Maddie Winkler added 13 assists and two service aces for B-H.

■ Tuscola 2, Chrisman 1. The Warriors rallied to a 19-25, 25-18, 25-16 home win behind Karli Allen’s nine kills and five service aces. Hannah Scribner had 10 kills and three blocks for Tuscola. Bridget Mattingly led the Cardinals with six digs.

■ Heritage 2, Fisher 0. Cedar Richardson’s six kills and six digs lifted the Hawks to a 25-17, 25-21 home victory. Taylor Wienke contributed 10 assists and six digs for Heritage.

In boys’ soccer

■ Bismark-Henning 2, Covington (Ind.) 2.
Blake Reifsteck’s goal off a corner kick put the Blue Devils ahead 2-1 in the second half, but visiting Covington rallied to earn a tie. Skylar Nuetzmann also scored for B-H.

■ Judah Christian 6, Schlarman 0. Lewis Nisbet racked up four goals, including two unassisted, to propel the Tribe to a win at Danville. Max Berry scored Judah’s two other goals and also earned an assist.

■ Unity 6, Meridian 0. Trevor Giannetti scored four goals and assisted on two to lift the Rockets to a road win.

In girls’ tennis

■ Centennial 8, GCMS 1.
Lauren Neitzel did not lose a game at No. 1 singles and combined with Teresa Boerma for a 6-1, 6-0 victory at No. 1 doubles to lead the Chargers past the Falcons at Atkins Tennis Center in Urbana.
