Red Hill 56, Blue Ridge 6. The Knights (1-5) threw for a touchdown in the first quarter but didn’t score again after a failed two-point conversion on the drive, giving way to 40 unanswered points for Red Hill.

Armstrong-Potomac 2, Chrisman 0. A-P stayed unbeaten in Vermilion Valley Conference action with a 25-20, 25-11 sweep. Sarah Porter finished with 12 kills and 12 digs for the Trojans (12-7, 8-0).

Iroquois West 4, Watseka 0. Jimmy Andrade and Diego Camarena both scored two goals to lead the Raiders (12-4) to a shutout victory. Warrior goalkeeper Andrew Heuring had eight saves.


Westville's Pinter is following through

WESTVILLE — Nick Pinter might need a new nickname.

Something like Mr. Medalist.

The Westville senior's previous golf season ended in heartbreak, finishing just one stroke away from qualification in the Class 1A state tournament.

Pinter doesn't seem angered by the fact these days. He's a soft-spoken kid who lets his game do the talking.

Champaign Central's McCoys gain momentum, win titles

SAVOY — Mike Osterbur couldn't have been more impressed with the McCoy siblings.

And the Champaign Central boys' golf coach found a unique way to express it after Justin and Mackenzie McCoy won their respective Big 12 Tournament titles Monday at the U of I Orange Course.
