Athletes of the Week: Malone and Shah

J.J. Malone, Blue Ridge, Soccer, Senior

Recently: Scored five goals against Georgetown-Ridge Farm to break the area’s season record for goals and then added one more in a 1-1 tie against Fisher/GCMS. His career total of 159 (61 this year) has tied the all-time IHSA state record.

In his own words: "(The record) is a good feeling. But if we don't do well in regionals, that will overshadow it."

My last bicycle kick ... was attempted in a Hoopeston tournament, but the goalie caught it.
