Tuesday's prep highlights: Centennial tops Danville in volleyball
At Danville. Centennial defeated the Vikings 25-23, 25-12 in a Big 12 match. Jordan Ogle had eight digs and a service ace for Danville.
At Decatur. Christie Stark's four kills and six digs lifted Urbana to a 25-15, 25-18 victory against Eisenhower.
At Bloomington. Alina Altymeyer had five kills and Jaelynn Altymyer added three blocks for Champaign Central in a 25-15, 25-20 loss to the Purple Raiders.
At Champaign. St. Thomas More remained perfect in the Sangamon Valley Conference at 6-0 with a 25-12, 25-14 victory against Clifton Central. Shannon Siuts had five service aces, 17 assists and five kills for the Sabers.
At Urbana. Emma Hoyer's 11 kills rallied Urbana University High to a 17-25, 25-21, 25-18 victory against Decatur Christian. Juliana Trach had 17 assists and Jo Ellen Machesky 14 digs for the Illineks (15-7).
At Champaign. Despite Christina Rummery's 10 kills and Brenna Fouts' 25 assists, Judah Christian fell to Decatur Lutheran 24-26, 25-22, 25-17.
At Bismarck. Bismarck-Henning improved to 17-1 and remained undefeated in the Vermilion Valley Conference in 10 matches with a 25-9, 25-11 victory against Hoopeston Area. Bailey Bryant led the Blue Devils with eight kills, while Morgan Gerbsch contributed three service aces and six digs. Mackenzie Atchie had 10 digs and three kills for the Cornjerkers.
At Mahomet. Emma Cabutti and Makenzie Hartman combined for 21 kills, leading Mahomet-Seymour to a 25-22, 15-25, 25-16 victory against Rantoul. Abbie Magrini had 16 digs for the Bulldogs.
At Argenta. Katie Massey had six kills and two blocks for Sullivan in a 25-11, 25-19 victory against Argenta-Oreana. Cali Melton led the Bombers with four kills.
At Paxton. PBL defeated Watseka 25-21, 25-13 behind Kortnie Schroeder's 10 kills and Kandace Hofer's 17 digs. Hayley Gray had four kills and two blocks for the Warriors (24-3).
At Momence. Josey Fruhling had eight kills and three blocks for St. Joseph-Ogden, which rolled to a 25-3, 25-7 victory against Momence. Emily Griswell contributed 21 assists to the win.
At Monticello. The Sages fell to 6-2 in the Okaw Valley Conference with a 25-14, 25-14 loss to Decatur St. Teresa. Kaitlyn Hunt had 13 digs for Monticello (13-10).
At Fithian. Propelled by Paige Thevenin's six kills and three blocks, Chrisman pulled out a 25-21, 24-26, 25-17 victory against Oakwood. Makenzie Baker led the Comets with 19 kills, while teammate Peyton Jones had eight blocks and seven kills.
At Oakland. Emily Warner had four aces, Heidi Dague had three blocks and Lizzy Barnard had nine kills for Tri-County in a 25-18, 25-9 victory against Okaw Valley.
At Westville. Kaitie Shaw and Mikayla Rolinitis combined for 25 digs, leading Westville past Milford 25-13, 25-20.
At Fairbury. Prairie Central lost to Bloomington Central Catholic 25-22, 25-13 despite four blocks by Sarah Oprondek.
At Georgetown. Salt Fork outbattled Georgetown-Ridge Farm 23-25, 25-11, 25-18 behind Emilie McFadden's eight kills, eight digs and two blocks.
At Arcola. Morgan Neisslie's 20 digs weren't enough to keep Cerro Gordo from losing to the Purple Riders 25-18, 23-25, 25-18. Taylor Edwards had eight kills and Laynee Clark contributed 12 digs for Arcola.
At Mackinaw. Jacy CoChran had six kills and four blocks for Fisher in a 25-7, 26-28, 25-17 loss to Deer Creek-Mackinaw.
At Armstrong. Led by Ella Black's 10 kills and four service aces, Schlarman defeated Armstrong-Potomac 25-11, 25-16. Laura Gross added nine kills and seven blocks for the Hilltoppers. Charley Herron led A-P with nine digs.
At Gibson City. GCMS lost to Tri-Valley 25-20, 25-18 despite Sydni Meunier's 15 digs and Jordyn Nettleton's seven kills.
At Colfax. Megan Jones had 11 kills and 13 digs for Ridgeview in a 25-12, 25-12 victory against Fieldcrest.
At Arthur. Sherelle Coller's 12 assists and five service aces led Arthur to a 25-16, 25-15 victory against Shiloh.
At Villa Grove. Samantha O'Brien had 12 assists and five digs for Bement in a 25-15, 25-11 victory against the Blue Devils. Amanda McCollom led Villa Grove with 10 digs.
At Clinton. Unity defeated the Maroons 25-19, 25-19 behind Madie Herbert's 12 digs, six kills and two service aces. Bailey Walker had seven kills for Clinton.
In girls' tennis
At Champaign. Allison Hansen swept Anna Rodgers 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1 singles and combined with Annie Roh for an 8-0 victory at No. 1 doubles to lead Centennial to an 8-1 victory against Champaign Central.
In boys' soccer
At Hoopeston. Hoopeston Area/Bismarck-Henning built a 2-0 halftime lead but couldn't hold off Mount Zion in settling for a 2-2 tie. Seth Talbott and Will Miller scored for the Cornjerkers (11-7-3), with Elijah Yates assisting on both goals.
At Bloomington. Goalkeeper Julian Threlkeld had five saves for Urbana in a 0-0 tie with Bloomington.
