JULIAN THRELKELD

Urbana senior, goalkeeper

Why he made it: Threlkeld was named the top keeper from the Illinois High School Soccer Coaches Association Section 10 after posting a 1.7 goals-against average for the Big 12 Conference champions.

Season highlight: Coming back from an early deficit to defeat Normal Community 4-1.

Three things on my bucket list: Skydiving, retiring early and playing soccer on a professional-grade field.

PETER MEHNERT

Centennial senior, defender

Why he made it: He was an all-conference and all-sectional selection as the top defender for the Class 2A regional champions.

Season highlight: Winning the regional championship.

A few of my favorite things: My mom's Mexican food ... "Seinfeld" ... Michael Jordan ... AP history ... Coldplay ... "The Bourne Ultimatum".

Three things on my bucket list: Driving a Bugatti Veyron at top speed, getting VIP passes to a Kanye West concert, being successful.

BEN WINN

Unity senior, midfielder

Why he made it: The all-sectional pick by the IHSSCA had 16 goals and nine assists for the Rockets.

Season highlight: Scoring twice to come from behind and tie Mahomet-Seymour 3-3.

Three things on my bucket list: Playing soccer in college, having a family and having a well-rounded career.

MIGUEL FIERRO

Urbana junior, midfielder

Why he made it: The All-Big 12 and all-sectional honoree collected 11 goals and nine assists to help the Tigers win the conference.

Season highlight: Playing my best game as we came back to beat Normal Community 4-1.

A few of my favorite things: Hot wings from Buffalo Wild Wings ... "Goal!" ... "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air" ... Kyle Cleary ... Adam Blackman ... my broadcasting class.

Three things on my bucket list: Becoming a youth minister, paying for my mom's kidney transplant surgery and beating Coach Blackman in a wrestling match.

JULIO ZARCO

Champaign Central senior, midfielder

Why he made it: The All-Big 12 selection was one of four area players named to the IHSSCA's all-state team after collecting seven goals and eight assists for the Maroons.

Season highlight: Scoring against Centennial in the regular season.

A few of my favorite things: "Fast Five" ... "SportsCenter" ...techno and dubstep music ... physical education class ... Andres Iniesta ... burritos.

Three things on my bucket list: Finishing college, playing pro soccer and having a lot of money.

WESTON DePRATT

Danville senior, forward

Why he made it: Named to the all-conference and all-sectional teams, he had 10 goals and 13 assists for the Vikings.

Season highlight: Our game against Hoopeston Area/Bismarck-Henning to raise awareness of breast cancer.

A few of my favorite things: Pizza ... "Cinderella Man" ... "That '70s Show" ... Brett Carroll ... business law class ... Drake.

Three things on my bucket list: Going to a Team USA match, visiting Europe and climbing Mount Everest.

JACOB HANSELMAN

Monticello senior, midfielder

Why he made it: The all-sectional selection led the Sages with 17 goals and 13 assists.

Season highlight: Coming back in the last few minutes of the match to beat Blue Ridge 3-2.

A few of my favorite things: Italian food ... "300" ... "House" ... Coldplay ... Frank Lampard ... math class.

Three things on my bucket list: Finding a cure for cancer, developing a way to return the use of limbs to amputees, traveling the world.

JORDAN SIZEMORE

Fisher/Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley senior, forward

Why he made it: Named to the all-sectional squad, Sizemore had 40 goals (second best in the area) and 10 assists.

Season highlight: Making it to the regional championship, the first time I'd done that in high school.

A few of my favorite things: Steak ... "Never Back Down" ... "Tosh.O" ... Lionel Messi ... Mac Miller ... marketing class.

Three things on my bucket list: Going to Europe, playing or coaching soccer as long as possible, being successful.

J.J. MALONE

Blue Ridge senior, forward

Why he made it: The all-state pick scored 64 goals, third most in IHSA history, and assisted on eight others.

Season highlight: Winning the regional championship.

A few of my favorite things: Cheese pizza ... "Fight Club" ... "Modern Family" ... Brand New ... Lionel Messi ... AP biology.

Three things on my bucket list: Going to a World Cup championship match, attending a Brand New concert, being a contestant on "The Amazing Race".

TARIK KORIC

Urbana University junior, midfielder

Why he made it: An all-sectional honoree, Koric had 25 goals and 17 assists for the Class 1A sectional champions.

Season highlight: The playoff run we had, and beating Urbana for the first time in school history.

A few of my favorite things: Steak and fries ... Edin Dzeko ... Kanye West ... "The Hangover" ... physics class.

Three things on my bucket list: Traveling the world, going to college and meeting my favorite soccer players.

GEORGE VOULGARIS

Urbana University junior, midfielder

Why he made it: An IHSSCA all-stater, he had 19 goals and 12 assists as the Illineks completed a 22-2 season.

Season highlight: Overcoming a 3-2 deficit to beat Kankakee Bishop McNamara in the sectional.

A few of my favorite things: Steak ... Sokratis Papastathopoulos ... Lil Wayne ... physics class ... "Talladega Nights".

Three things on my bucket list: Playing soccer in college, living in Greece for a few years and becoming a successful businessman.

PATRICK WONG

Urbana University junior, forward

Why he made it: The all-sectional selection scored a team-high 26 goals to go with 12 assists.

Season highlight: Winning the sectional final in double overtime.

Why he made it: The All-Big 12 and all-sectional pick had 17 goals and eight assists for the league champions.

Season highlight: I did a lot of things, but I can do better next year, even though we won the conference.
