Highlights: Sages fall in soccer; Vikings team out at state


BLOOMINGTON — Goalkeeper Ryan Schaub recorded nine saves, but Monticello’s boys’ soccer team lost 2-0 to Williamsville on Friday in the championship match of the Class 1A Bloomington Central Catholic Sectional.

The Sages finished 13-8-2.


Lewises’ run ends. Danville’s doubles team of Rachael Lewis and Rebecca Lewis lost 4-6, 7-6 (8), 6-1 to a Gurnee Warren duo in the fourth round of the consolation bracket Friday at the IHSA state tennis tournament in the Chicago suburbs.


Randolph lifts DeLand-Weldon. Chandler Randolph had 14 kills, leading third-seeded DeLand-Weldon to a 25-18, 25-4 victory against Calvary Christian on Friday at the ECIC volleyball tournament.

Top-seeded Judah Christian defeated Cornerstone Christian 25-11, 25-17, but fourth-seeded Urbana Uni High lost 25-21, 25-20 to fifth-seeded Decatur Christian.
