Thursday's prep highlights: Troike paces Tuscola


– LINDSEY TROIKE had seven kills and KELSEY CLELAND chipped in four aces as Tuscola beat visiting Arthur 25-12, 25-20. MACKENZIE SEIP contributed three kills, and SAM KOHLBECKER had 12 assists.

– Centennial opened its season with a 25-21, 25-22 loss at Lincoln.

– NICOLE YODER had five kills and TABITHA DAVIS collected four in visiting Sullivan's 26-24, 26-24 loss to Windsor.


– SIERRA MYERSCOUGH shot 4-over-par 40 at Stone Creek to lead St. Thomas More past Bloomington Central Catholic 175-192. MEGAN DEEDRICH fired a 44 for the Sabers.

– DAVID KEENAN (36), MAT BOWEN (37) and RYAN ANDERSON (37) swept the top three spots as Salt Fork (149) rolled past Villa Grove and Shiloh at Tri-City Country Club. DYLAN GREGER paced the Blue Devils with a 38.

– JERID DUNAVAN and JAMES MULLEN each shot 43 as Hoopeston Area improved to 7-1 while defeating Iroquois West, Donovan and Milford at Shewami Country Club. KYLE POOL and CLAYTON FINK shot 44s for Iroquois West.

– KYLE HOWARD was medalist with a 39 to lead Mahomet-Seymour (167) to victory against Heyworth (168) and Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley (199). LYLE BURNS added a 40 for the Bulldogs at Railside Golf Club.

– Freshman ANDY BOTT captured medalist honors with a 1-over 37 at Turtle Run as Bismarck-Henning tripped Danville 173-175. ZACH BELL's 42 led the Vikings.

– Hoopeston Area's MEGAN GRIMES shot 52 at Shewami for medalist honors against Iroquois West, Milford and Donovan. KRISTIN FOX's 55 led Milford to team honors.

– Sullivan's PATRICK MILLER shot 36 for medalist honors in a four-team meet at Moweaqua Golf Course. Arcola-Arthur, led by Brock Miller and Carson Petersheim with 40s, took team honors.


– CAMERON HARVEY (17:00) led a Sullivan-Okaw Valley sweep of the top four spots in a victory against Teutopolis.

– HANNAH ROBINSON was third for Sullivan-Okaw Valley in a dual-meet loss to Teutopolis.


– JJ MALONE and CONNOR BUILTA each scored twice as Blue Ridge defeated host Iroquois West 4-0. Iroquois West keeper HECTOR REYES had nine saves.

– IAN PARK scored three times in host Hoopeston Area's 5-0 victory against Watseka. SETH TALBOTT and KRAIG VANWIERINGEN each added a goal and two assists.

– ADAM BLACKMAN scored twice as Urbana opened the season with an 8-0 home win against Decatur Eisenhower.

– KEGAN DECKER scored early in the second half from LOGAN CRONK as visiting Oakwood topped Unity 1-0. Comets keeper AUSTIN BUCKLEY made 11 saves.

– TARIK KORIC's two goals and two assists propelled Urbana Uni High past visiting St. Joseph-Ogden 6-1.

— JOHN TABB had three goals to lead visiting St. Thomas More's 5-0 rout against Heyworth.


– JENNIFER HART (No. 3) , MYISHA HOWARD (No. 5) and TESSA TURNER (No. 6) posted singles wins as host Urbana fell to Paris 5-4. Hart and Howard teamed to win in straight sets at No. 2 doubles. Turner and ALYANNA BALANAY combined to win at No. 3 doubles.
