In soccer

Unity 5, Meridian 0. LOGAN CUNNINGHAM had three goals and two assists to power Unity to a victory in the Okaw Valley Conference tournament.

St. Teresa 4, Sullivan/Okaw Valley 2. The Redskins got second-half goals from NATE HORTENSTINE and TANNER TYPER after falling behind 4-0 in the first half in the OVC tourney.

Judah Christian 1, Fisher/GCMS 1. JUN PARK scored a second-half goal on an assist from MALIK WILLIAMS for the host Tribe. NICHOLAS ROMITO recorded seven saves for Judah.

JORDAN SIZEMORE scored for Fisher/GCMS.

St. Joseph-Ogden 6, Watseka 0. NICK GEERS and CAMERON HARPST scored two goals apiece to power the Spartans. Keeper KYLE ROEDL made nine saves.

Central 5, MacArthur 0. JUAN RAMOS scored twice as the Maroons improved to 6-1-1.

Blue Ridge 7, Mount Pulaski 0. J.J. MALONE had three goals and one assist for the visiting Knights (14-1-2), who have posted seven consecutive shutouts.

Salt Fork/Westville 4, Oakwood 1. ALEX BURKE, NOAH DARR and EVAN BURKE scored in the overtime session to lift Salt Fork/Westville.

Danville 3, Centennial 1. WESTON DePRATT had two goals and an assist to lead Danville. JOSE TAPIA also scored for the Vikings (5-7-1), who outshot Centennial 15-9. BRENT LOTH earned the Chargers' (6-4-3) goal.

Mount Zion 2, Mahomet-Seymour 1. ANDREW SHROYER scored on a penalty kick in the second half for the Bulldogs, who surrendered the decisive goal in the final 90 seconds.

St. Thomas More 4, Clifton Central 3. STM erased a 2-0 deficit and ZACH SHIN buried a penalty kick with three minutes left to lift the Sabers (10-3). Shin and DAN SHIN each had two goals and an assist.

In volleyball

At Tuscola. MADISON FRERICHS had six kills and HANNAH SCRIBNER had four blocks and three aces to lead the Warriors to a 25-12, 25-17 victory against Argenta-Oreana.

At Normal. EMMA CABUTTI had three kills and three service points, but Mahomet-Seymour fell to Corn Belt leader Normal U-High 25-13, 25-9.

At Blue Ridge. KAITLYN ZELHART had 10 kills and two blocks and EMILY ZELHART chipped in 13 assists as Blue Ridge handed Deer Creek-Mackinaw its first HOIC loss, 25-21, 26-24. JORDAN WHEELER added 11 digs for the Knights (13-3, 4-1).

At Urbana. JAMIE BLUE had eight kills to power Urbana Uni's 25-20, 25-21 victory against Buckley Christ Lutheran.

At Catlin. KELSEY CARLETON and KIRSTEN THORNSBROUGH each had 15 assists for Salt Fork in its 24-26, 25-18, 25-22 victory against Westville. EMILIE McFADDEN recorded 12 kills, and JESSICA MUEHLHER added five blocks.

At Danville. JESSICA GREER had 12 kills in First Baptist's 25-22, 25-21 victory against Judah Christian.

At Danville. MICHALEEN FORMAN and SHAWNEIS JONES collected seven kills apiece to lead Danville to a 25-13, 25-19 victory against Decatur Eisenhower.

At Champaign. ALINA ALTMYER had six kills to lead a balanced Central attack in a 27-29, 25-20, 25-15 victory against Decatur MacArthur. JAELYN WESTFIELD and MEREDITH YOUNG added five kills apiece.

At Bethany. SARAH HENDERSON had eight kills, but Arcola fell to Okaw Valley 14-25, 25-23, 26-24.

At Tuscola. Tuscola beat Argenta-Oreana 25-12, 25-17 behind MACKENZIE SEIP's six kills.

At Lovington. TAYLOR WIENKE served a school-record nine aces as Heritage beat Lovington 25-9, 25-13.

At Fithian. BAILEY BRYANT's eight kills and four blocks powered Bismarck-Henning's 25-12, 27-25 win against Oakwood.

At Chrisman. Chrisman improved to 11-2 after defeating Georgetown-Ridge Farm 25-13, 25-8. BRETT BISHOP had six kills for the Cardinals.

At Danville. LAURA GROSS and JORDAN MARGANSKI had five kills apiece to lead Schlarman past Milford 25-14, 25-10.

At Villa Grove. AMBER MEYER had 13 aces in Tri-County's 25-9, 25-9 victory against Villa Grove.

At Arthur. JULIA COHAN had nine kills to spark Arthur's 25-17, 25-16 victory against Martinsville.

At Moweaqua. KATHERINE EICKMEIER collected five blocks as Monticello rallied past Central A&M 23-25, 25-23, 26-24.

At Champaign. KELLY WACHTEL had seven kills and RACHEL JONES added four blocks and three aces as Centennial knocked off previously unbeaten Mattoon 25-13, 25-13. The Chargers improved to 15-0.

At Armstrong. Armstrong-Potomac beat Hoopeston Area 25-17, 25-15 behind ERIKA SIEBERNS' four kills and five blocks.

At Warrensburg. LAUREN HARRIS had four blocks in Sullivan's 25-13, 25-7 loss to Warrensburg-Latham.

At Gibson City. HANNAH FINK had seven kills to propel Fisher past Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley 26-24, 25-21.

At Urbana. CATE HUMMEL collected 11 digs in Urbana's 25-19, 25-7 loss to Normal Community.

At Bloomington. Rantoul fell to Bloomington Central Catholic 25-8, 25-20 despite 12 digs from CHAQUERA CROSS.

In boys' golf

At Savoy. PETER BLACK and JONATHAN SHERRICK fired 39s on the UI Orange as Centennial edged Lincoln 162-165.

At Fairmount. AUSTIN MERRITT's 38 earned medalist honors as Chrisman defeated Salt Fork and Hoopeston Area at Blue Needles.

At LeRoy. JACOB WOHLWEND shot 42 as LeRoy edged Heyworth 192-197 at LeRoy Country Club.

At Arcola. Shiloh topped Arcola 174-184 behind medalist JUSTIN BRUCE's 42.

At Danville. Urbana (167) defeated Danville (174) and Schlarman (188) behind medalist C.G. FACER's 38 at Danville Country Club.

At Urbana. MATTHEW TATE fired a 3-under-par 33 at Stone Creek in St. Thomas More's 147-226 victory against Watseka.

In girls' golf

At Urbana. SIERRA MYERSCOUGH shot 37 to lead St. Thomas More (164) past Watseka at Stone Creek.

At LeRoy. MOLLY MARCUM was medalist with a 38 for LeRoy (194) against Prairie Central (190) and Bloomington (212).

At Mattoon. JANICE CHOO had a 51 in Central's loss to Mattoon.

In girls' swimming & diving

At Champaign. Central defeated Centennial 107-78 as SARAH McGILL won the 500-yard freestyle and swam on two victorious relays. Centennial's AUDREY RODAWIG won the 50 free and the 100 backstroke.

In boys' cross-country

At Tolono. ARCH ROBISON (17 minutes, 55 seconds) led an Urbana Uni sweep of the top four spots as the Illineks defeated Unity, St. Thomas More and Clinton.

At Hoopeston. MATT AVENATTI of Georgetown-Ridge Farm/Chrisman won the four-team race in 17:08. Paxton-Buckley-Loda took team honors.

In girls' cross-country

At Hoopeston. Hoopeston Area captured a four-school event at McFarren Park behind LAUREN HOUMES' victory in 19:01.

At Tolono. Unity's LAURA SEILER was victorious in 21:02, while Urbana Uni took team honors against the Rockets and St. Thomas More.

In girls' tennis

At Urbana. Mattoon swept Urbana 9-0 at Blair Park. "It was the first dual match for many of our girls," coach Nathan Chattick said. "In spite of the score, they fought in every match. They had a very good first experience."

At Gibson City. MADIE BAILLON-ALYSSA VODACEK and MARA FALLON-JIWON YOON earned doubles victories in St. Thomas More's 7-2 victory against GCMS.
