Wednesday's prep highlights: Threlkeld leads Urbana past rival

In boys' soccer

Urbana 4, Centennial 0. Julian Threlkeld made 10 saves for the host Tigers in the Big 12 match. Urbana received a goal and an assist apiece from Miguel Fierro and Brian Lopez.

Central 4, Charleston 0. Eddie Lubaga scored twice for visiting Champaign Central, which also got a goal from Tim Ham in his first varsity match.

Danville 7, MacArthur 2. Luke Robinson and Cole Comrie scored their first career goals for the host Vikings (8-7-1, 4-2 Big 12).

In girls' tennis

At Urbana. Madie Baillon (No. 1), Jiwon Yoon (No. 2), Alyssa Vodacek (No. 4) and Dani Thomas (No. 6) won their singles matches for St. Thomas More in a 5-4 loss to Normal West at Atkins Tennis Center.

At Champaign. Anna Rodgers won her No. 1 singles and doubles matches to lead Central to an 8-1 victory against Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley. Carson Arends won her match at No. 2 singles for the Falcons.

In boys' cross-country

At Rossville. Zeke Elkins (17 minutes, 16 seconds), Chas Cox (17:50) and Drew Knipfer (17:55) swept the top three spots for St. Joseph-Ogden, which defeated Hoopeston Area 17-46 at Christman Park.

At Champaign. Central's Alex Goodlad won the race (16:36), but Danville edged Central 27-30 behind Caleb Hummer's second-place finish (16:58).

In girls' cross-country

At Rossville. SJ-O's Chelsea Blaase topped Hoopeston Area's Lauren Houmes by 12 seconds, finishing in 18:24 at Christman Park.

The Spartans, who received a third-place finish from Jolee Paden, won the dual meet 20-39.

At Champaign. Danville's Kim Carter won the 3-mile race, clocking 20:06. Central's Hannah Wright (20:17) was second.
