Athletes of the Week: Wright, Miller

Recently: Won the 194-girl East Peoria Invitational, finishing the 3-mile course in 18 minutes, 49 seconds

In her own words: “I’ve never won that meet before. I had a really good last half-mile.”

Do you run to school? All the time. I live like two or three blocks away.

I’m winning the Illinois Marathon in ... 2018.

My last text went to ... my dad.

Before a race, I’m eating ... a granola bar and banana.

Afterward ... The same thing

I run fastest when listening to ... rap.

I’m driving ... my mom’s car, a Subaru.

For Halloween, I’m dressing ... as some kind of food, like a candy corn.

In five years ... I’ll be graduating from college and hopefully still have good friends and a career path.

Where should the new Central go? Somewhere near the city. Putting it out next to the mall doesn’t make any sense.

Central High is ... the place I’ll be leaving next spring.

Recently: Was medalist at the Little Okaw Valley boys’ golf meet with a season-best 79, leading his team to victory as well

In his own words: “Winning (the LOVC) was special since I’m a freshman. It made me happy; it made me feel good.”

My favorite athlete is ... Tiger Woods.

He’ll win his next major ... at next year’s Masters.

My longest drive ... was 275 yards.

On the 19th hole, I order ... a hot dog and Gatorade.

My last text went to ... my dad.

I need tickets to ... a Miami Heat game.

Before golfing, I eat ... a lot of fruit.

Afterward ... I just pig out.

In five years ... I want to go to the University of Texas and play golf.

Arcola High is ... a small school that focuses on football.

Who does better with the girls, football players or golfers? I probably have to say football players.
