Jon Davis
Oakwood/Armstrong-Potomac, cross-country

Recently: Won the individual sectional championship at Decatur, with the fastest Class 1A time (14 minutes, 46 seconds) from the state’s five sectionals.

In his own words: “I’d like to get under 14:30 and hopefully be a state champion. There’s a chance. I have to start with putting in another hard week of practice.”

I’m driving ... a ‘94 Jeep Cherokee.

I need tickets to ... a Bears game.

Jay Cutler is ... awesome.

My favorite athlete is ... Michael Jordan.

Before a race, I’m listening to ... heavy metal.

After a race, I’m eating ... steak.

I’m winning the Illinois Marathon ... next year.

In five years ... I want to be running in college.

My first job ... McDonald’s in Oakwood

Recently: Had 13 kills as the Hawks won their third consecutive regional championship.

In her own words: “My sophomore year, we won regionals for the first time in like over 10 years. It’s cool to start a legacy and prove that a small school like ours still can have a great volleyball program.”

The Bears ... are going to win the Super Bowl. We can dream.

Is Cedar your real name? It is. My mom knew someone with a dog named Cedar and loved it.

Before a match, I’m eating ... pasta.

Afterward ... I don’t eat because I’ll throw up.

In five years ... Heading into medical school to become an orthopedic surgeon

Next year ... I’d like to go to North Carolina, North Carolina State or Clemson. The Carolinas are pretty, and I love the ocean.

Heritage High is ... a really good school. We have a lot of school pride.
