Urbana's Marjanovic takes Richwoods title

PEORIA — Urbana’s Katarina Marjanovic won No. 1 singles at the Peoria Richwoods Invitational.

Marjanovic did not lose a set and dropped two games in the tournament.
The Tigers placed seventh.

At Bloomington. Danville’s Christina Janesky finished seventh in a 16-player draw in No. 4 singles. Grace Resha and Bethny Sexton were seventh at No. 3 doubles.

“This is by far the toughest and deepest tournament where we’ve played in yet this year. The girls gave 100 percent and it was a great preparation for the Big 12 tournament next week,” Vikings coach Scott Simpson said.

Lisa LeCleir and Sexton finished ninth in No. 1 and 6 singles with a 1-2 record for Danville.
