Warmoth paces Fisher


GIBSON CITY – Fisher's Cody Warmoth's 2-under-par 34 earned him medalist honors in the Bunnies' triangular win against Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley and Iroquois West on Wednesday in boys' golf at Railside. Kevin Clore finished second with a 38.

At LeRoy. Brandon Bronke and Jacob Wohlwend tied Heyworth's David Beuttelfor for medalist honors at 42 en route to leading LeRoy to a 9-stroke victory against the Hornets at LeRoy Country Club.

At Sheldon. Watseka's Brad Crabtree and Derek Wengert each carded 42s to tie for medalist honors in the Warriors' triangular victory against Donovan and Momence at Shewami Country Club.

At Mahomet. Nick Guth and Seth Trolia each shot 1-over 37s for Mahomet-Seymour in a 13-stroke win against Centennial at Lake of the Woods. Garrett Cox carded a 38 for the Bulldogs. Peter Black led the Chargers with a 38.

At Marshall. Salt Fork's David Keenan's 33 was good enough to claim medalist honors in the Storm's win against Marshall. Teammate Mat Bowen carded a 35 for Salt Fork.

In girls' golf:

At Gibson City. Emily Spangler was medalist after firing a 46 for GCMS in its win against Iroquois West. Teammate Mikayla Woodward finished second with a 51.

At Marshall. Marissa Trosper was medalist with a 49 for Salt Fork in its win against Marshall.

At Savoy. Champaign Central's Lonni Fredrickson was medalist with a 33 in the Maroons' dual win against Tuscola at the University of Illinois Blue Course. Jane Choo (35) and Kathryn Ikenberry (37) also starred for Central. Tuscola was led by Stephanie Swaney's 37.

At Charleston. Centennial's Lizzy Dombroski shot 39 and was medalist in the Chargers' 2-stroke victory against Charleston at Charleston Country Club.

In volleyball:

At Springfield. Cori Harris pounded out 15 kills and Melanie Moore dished out 26 assists for Centennial in a 22-25, 25-16, 25-16 win against Springfield.

In boys' cross-country:

At Pontiac. Champaign Central's Alex Goodlad was the winner, crossing the finish line in 17 minutes, 43 seconds to help the Maroons beat Pontiac.

In girls' cross-country:

At Pontiac. Champaign Central beat Pontiac, thanks to a 1-2 finish by Jakeenya Evans and Julia Smith.

In girls' tennis:

At Champaign. Champaign Central's Samantha Emery's 3-6, 6-4, 10-5 win against Brittany Funk was the lone bright spot for the Maroons in an 8-1 loss to Normal West.
