Highlights: Lukusa, Blackman help Urbana keep pace

MATTOON – Jonathan Lukusa and Adam Blackman each had a goal and assist as Urbana stayed unbeaten in Big 12 play with a 4-1 win against Mattoon on Saturday. Julian Threlkeld had four saves for the Tigers (3-0-2 Big 12).

At Chatham. Micah Walker's goal carried Champaign Central past Freeport 1-0. Despite a 3-0 loss to Chatham Glenwood, the Maroons won the tournament due to a tiebreaker.

Judah Christian 6, Normal Calvary 2. Jung Hwan Lee had three goals, Josh Himelick scored two and Jason Mills added three assists for the visiting Tribe.

Monticello 7, Meridian 0. Brett Winterbottom had a goal and two assists as the Sages won the third-place match at the Okaw Valley Conference tournament in Decatur. Seven different Sages scored to support Tyler Mumm's sixth shutout.

Centennial 5, BCC 2. Abdi Yussef Adan scored twice and Brent Loth added a goal and an assist for the host Chargers, who got four saves from Andy Drackley.

St. Thomas More 1, Teutopolis 1. Tyler Johnson's unassisted goal in the second half rescued the host Sabers.

Danville 1 Charleston 1. Blake Janesky's goal in the 50th minute helped the host Vikings tie. Corey Pichon had eight saves.

Herscher 4, Hoopeston Area 0. Tyler Davis had four saves in the loss.

Unity 3, Sullivan 0. Eric Wenzel scored twice for the Rockets, who got a shutout from Noah Winn.

In swimming:

At Urbana Uni High. Milee Nelson (200 IM, 100 back) and Bissy Michael (500 free, 100 breast) each won two events as the host Illineks beat O'Fallon 129-77.

At Bloomington. Emma Newman won the 200 free and 100 breast as Champaign Central finished second. Newman, Morgan Davis, Emma Healy and Mary Lacine teamed to win the 200 medley relay. Danville's Lauren Drennan won the 100 fly and was second in the 50 free. Central's Hannah Newman was second in the 100 fly. Centennial's Emily Weber was second in diving, and Urbana's Jenny Hill was second in the 200 IM.

In golf:

At Blue Needles. David Keenan was medalist with a 71, Mat Bowen shot 72 and Ryan Anderson had a 73 to lead Salt Fork to a 59-stroke win at its own invitational. Schlarman's Greyson Pasco also shot a 77.

In cross-country:

At Springfield. Centennial's Ryan Root was fourth and teammate Evan White was eighth in a field of 128 at the Springfield Invitational. In the girls' race, Audrey White was 23rd for Centennial.
