Malone's four goals boost Blue Ridge

FARMER CITY – Jonathan Malone found the back of the net four times to power Blue Ridge to an 8-1 win against Heyworth on Monday in boys' soccer action. Kevin Price scored a pair of goals and assisted on three others for the Knights, who improved to 15-3-1 on the season. Caleb Davis and Trent Butler also scored for the Knights.

Fisher/GCMS 2, Unity 1. Chase Kelley's second-half goal broke a 1-1 tie and propelled the host Bunnies. Bryan Enos also scored for Fisher/GCMS. C.J. Webb scored for the Rockets.

Urbana 3, Mahomet-Seymour 1. Jonathan Lukusa, Adam Blackman and Nick Lund scored for the host Tigers. Michael Brooks had the lone goal for the Bulldogs.

Salt Fork/Catlin 4, Danville First Baptist 0. Colton Parr recorded a hat trick, scoring twice on assists from Brodie Pirie and once from Evan Burke for the host Storm. Burke added a goal for Salt Fork/Westville. Nathan George stopped seven shots to record the shutout.

Watseka 0, Iroquois West 0. Zak Hayes had six saves and Ben Galdario had two for host Watseka.

Danville 4, Judah Christian 1. Mitchell Killough scored a pair of goals and Blake Janesky and Jose Tapia each converted penalty kicks to lead the host Vikings. Jason Mills scored for the Tribe.

In boys' golf:

At Urbana. Ben Dodds and Jackson Hayes each shot 40 for second-place St. Thomas More in a triangular with meet winner Effingham St. Anthony and Bloomington Central Catholic at Urbana Country Club. Will Baillon shot 41 for the Sabers.

At Hoopeston. Chrisman's Shane Anderson shot 44 and was medalist in the Cardinals' triangular win against Hoopeston Area and Paxton-Buckley-Loda at Hubbard Trail. Hoopeston Area's James Mullen finished second with a 46.

At Onarga. Aaron Thomas and Charlie Kilgore each shot 45 for Iroquois West, which dropped a dual with Grant Park.

At Decatur. Monticello's Codie Swan tied for medalist honors with a 43, but the Sages fell to St. Terea in a dual at Hickory Point. Cain Burgener finished fourth with a 47.

At Rantoul. Prairie Central's Mitch Gulliford shot a 43 and finished third in the second-place Hawks' triangular with champion Eureka and Rantoul. Brad Milner shot 44 for Rantoul.

At Danville. Medalist Stephen Kout carded a 42 for Bismarck-Henning in the Blue Devils' triangular win against Donovan and Milford at Harrison Park. Tyler Moews finished second, carding a 47 for B-H.

At Gibson City. Watseka's Bradley Crabtree won medalist honors with a 41 in the Warriors' triangular win against Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley and Cissna Park at Railside.

In girls' golf:

At Effingham. St. Thomas More defeated defending Class 1A state champion Effingham St. Anthony for the third time this season behind Kelsey Gallivan's 44 at Effingham Country Club. Megan Deedrich carded a 45 for the Sabers, who won by 4 strokes.

At Hoopeston. Keri Kaag and Chloe Alkire each shot 60 for Hoopeston and tied Chrisman's Brittany Kindred for medalist honors in a dual at Hubbard Trail.

At Onarga. Kari Clark shot 42 for Iroquois West, but the Raiders dropped a dual to Grant Park at Shagbark Country Club.

At Mahomet. Medalist Charlotte Goss carded a 45 to lead Mahomet-Seymour to a dual win against Blue Ridge at Lake of the Woods. Allison Murphy shot 50 for the Bulldogs.

In tennis:

At Danville. Melissa Fuesting, Bethany Sexton, Carrie Zillman and Gabi Pagliuca each posted singles wins for Danville in the Vikings' 5-4 win against Champaign Central at the Danville Tennis Center.
