Baker, Hoag power Salt Fork

GEORGETOWN – Heather Baker and Britny Hoag combined for 21 kills and seven blocks Thursday to boost Salt Fork to a 25-13, 25-12 prep volleyball victory against Georgetown-Ridge Farm.

Setter Maddy Stutsman racked up 28 assists and contributed three aces in the win.

At Champaign. Cori Harris and Melanie Moore each had five aces for Centennial in a 25-12, 25-14 victory against Decatur MacArthur.

At Normal. Molly Facer had 12 digs and Mariah Burgess seven blocks for Urbana in a 25-15, 25-10 loss to Normal West.

At Chatham. Alex Pelmore had nine kills for Champaign Central in a 25-23, 25-12 loss to Chatham Glenwood.

At Fairbury. Abbie Magrini totaled 19 digs for Mahomet-Seymour in a 25-23, 19-25, 25-17 loss to Prairie Central. Corrie Magrini had 28 assists for the Bulldogs, who received nine kills apiece from Maddie Calcagno, Alyssa Drollinger and Baylee O'Donnell. Kaley Corban racked up 32 assists for the Hawks, and teammate Abby Popejoy had 26 digs.

At Fisher. Despite 16 kills by Kailey Roberts and 14 digs by Olivia Downs, Fisher fell to Tremont 25-20, 17-25, 26-24. Lindsey Williams added six blocks and 10 kills for the Bunnies.

At Westville. Morgan Ritchie had 20 digs and Lauren Kirkpatrick totaled 26 assists to help Westville fend off Milford 25-22, 25-23.

At Fithian. Brooke Wolfe had five kills and two blocks for Chrisman in a 25-13, 25-16 loss to Oakwood.

At Hoopeston. Courtney Reinken's six kills and Autumn Rush's 10 digs led Bismarck-Henning to a 25-13, 26-24 victory against Hoopeston Area. Maggie Bartley paced the Cornjerkers with five kills and seven blocks. Lauren McKenzie had four aces for B-H.

At Sullivan. Tabitha Davis had six kills and Chelsee McMahan eight digs for Sullivan in a 25-14, 17-25, 25-15 loss to Monticello.

At Paxton. Paxton-Buckley-Loda, behind eight kills and 10 digs by Taylor Rubarts, defeated Iroquois West 25-20, 25-21. Alison Hasselbring contributed 10 digs in the win.

At Tolono. Rachel Cunningham had five service aces and four kills for Unity in a 25-13, 25-14 victory against Argenta-Oreana. Nicole Keenen added five kills for the Rockets. Taylor Brunner led the Bombers with six digs, two solo blocks and two aces.

At Farmer City. Blue Ridge defeated Lexington 25-19, 25-20 behind Kaitlyn Zelhart's 11 kills and Devin Houser's 13 digs.

At Cullom. Watseka improved to 22-4 with a 25-9, 25-15 victory against Tri-Point. Katie Cowan paced the Warriors in kills with eight, and Jessica Allhands added four service aces.

At Tuscola. Despite a combined 17 kills by Taylor Turner and Anna Frye, Tuscola was edged by Maroa-Forsyth 25-21, 25-27, 26-24. Katy Yoakum had six digs for the Warriors.

In boys' soccer:

At Champaign. Jung Hwan Lee's hat trick and Chris Huggett's shutout goaltending led Judah Christian to a 6-0 victory against Unity. Jason Mills contributed two goals and two assists for the Tribe, while Alex Berry added a goal and three assists.

At Monticello. Goalkeeper Tyler Mumm made eight saves en route to his eighth shutout of the season in Monticello's 1-0 victory against Mahomet-Seymour. Yannik Spiller broke a scoreless tie in the second half on Thomas Atkins' assist.

At Gilman. Ardy Garcia scored 45 seconds into the match and Iroquois West went on to a 2-0 victory against Clifton Central. Giovanni Vergara added a score for the Raiders, who received six saves from goaltender Hector Reyes.

At. St. Anne. Todd Lyznicki and Brede Parker each had hat tricks for Watseka in a 7-0 victory against St. Anne.
