Kuemmerle nets 200th win

DANVILLE – Serena Calhoun had six kills and eight digs as Schlarman defeated Hoopeston Area 25-16, 22-25, 25-13 on Tuesday to earn coach Jamison Kuemmerle his 200th career volleyball victory. For the Hilltoppers, Sarah Barrett added 13 digs and Bri Thomas had 11 assists.

At Hume. Megan Pratt had seven digs and Rachael Bishop had four kills for Villa Grove in a 25-10, 25-8 loss to Shiloh.

At Paxton. Kelsey Stagen had 14 assists and six service aces for Paxton-Buckley-Loda in a 32-30, 25-16 win against Clifton Central. Allison Perkinson had a team-high eight kills and Allison Hasselbring added 24 digs.

At Fairbury. Kaley Corban had three aces, five digs and 10 assists for Prairie Central in a 25-16, 25-15 loss to Bloomington Central Catholic.

At Monticello. Julie Walsh had a team-high nine digs and four kills for the Sages in a 25-9, 25-11 loss to St. Teresa.

At Gilman. Karlyn Wilken had 10 digs for Iroquois West in a 25-15, 25-18 loss to Momence.

At Bement. Makenzie Morton had 12 assists, five kills and three service aces in the Bulldogs' 25-16, 22-25, 25-13 win against Lovington. Shelby Lust added 12 kills.

At Cerro Gordo. Stefanie Gaitros had a team-high 11 kills and Haley Witts dished out 22 assists to Cerro Gordo in a 26-24, 25-18 win against Heritage.

At Champaign. Bailee Dunlap had six kills and three service aces for Judah Christian in a 25-13, 25-15 win against Cornerstone Christian.

At Warrensburg. Sam Kohlbecker had eight assists and Lindsay Troike had three kills for Tuscola in a 25-10, 25-15 loss to Warrensburg-Latham.

At Kansas. Amber Meyer had 14 assists and Emma Getche had six service aces for Tri-County in a 25-6, 25-9 win against Arcola. Sadie Baird added six kills and two blocks.

At Atwood. Katie Davis had 14 kills and four blocks for Arthur in a 25-22, 25-19 win against Atwood-Hammond. Katie Chapman dished out 18 assists for the Lancers.

At Danville. Esther Kemper had 24 digs and Alex Pelmore had seven kills for Champaign Central in a 16-25, 25-10, 25-23 win against Danville.

At St. Joseph. Kaitlyn Fruhling had nine kills and three aces and Janna Buck added 21 assists for St. Joseph-Ogden in a 25-11, 25-11 win against Tri-Point.

At Mackinaw. Lindsey Williams had 12 kills and four blocks and Taylor Jean dished out 25 assists in Fisher's 27-25, 21-25, 25-21 loss to Deer Creek-Mackinaw.

At Champaign. Cori Harris and Aly Gatens each had eight kills for Centennial in a 25-7, 25-20 win against Urbana on Senior Night. Melanie Moore had 26 assists for the Chargers.

In swimming:

At Champaign. Centennial's Laurie Jefferson won the 50- and 100-yard freestyles, but the Chargers dropped a dual to Normal Community. Audrey Rodawig was a double winner (100 butterfly, 100 backstroke).

In boys' cross-country:

At Champaign. Villa Grove's Adam Crutchley crossed the finish line first and teammate Alex Mitsdarfer was third to lead the Blue Devils to a one-point win against St. Thomas More.

In girls' cross-country:

At Champaign. Theresa Welle and Lizzie Anderson finished first and second for St. Thomas More in the Sabers' win against Villa Grove and Shiloh.
