Monday's highlights: Sullivan, Shiloh fall in sectional semis

In girls’ basketball
Class 3A Regionals

■ Rantoul 56, Urbana 25. Hannah Wascher scored 27 points to power the Eagles’ rout. Rantoul held a 34-18 halftime lead and never looked back. Sharay Eskridge led Urbana with 10 points.

Class 2A sectionals
■ Mount Carmel 72, Sullivan 56.
Brittin Boyer had 22 points and 15 rebounds and Emily Neuhauser added 15 points, but the Redskins lost at Newton.

Class 1A sectionals
■ Central A&M 75, Shiloh 59. 
Bethany McGinness and Lauren Moses had 17 points apiece in the Raiders’ loss at Altamont.

In boys’ basketball
ECIC Tournament
■ Urbana Uni 42, DeLand-Weldon 34.
George Voulgaris scored 17 points — including nine from the free throw line — and had six rebounds, and Taharka Baraka added 10 points as Uni pulled away after leading by one at halftime. Dee Woods scored 21 to pace D-W.

Nontournament
■ LeRoy 54, GCMS 52.
The Panthers, who led 38-35 entering the fourth quarter, regained the lead with about three minutes to play and held off the visiting Falcons. Drew Ruckman (15), Cole Pliura (11) and Nick Aupperle (10) scored in double figures to pace LeRoy. Reese Simpson scored 18, and Ben Eads chipped in 13 for GCMS.
