Wong, Skoza shine for Uni High

DANVILLE – Michelle Wong earned tournament MVP honors to lead Urbana University High to first place at the Danville Christ Lutheran Crusader Invitational.

Wong compiled 84 assists, 18 digs and 10 aces in tournament play.

Hilltoppers, Sabers hold own

DANVILLE – Scott Showers and Weston Depratt each scored first-half goals to lead Schlarman to a 2-1 win against St. Thomas More at the Schlarman tournament on Saturday.

Brett Carroll added an assist for the Hilltoppers, who placed second in the tournament.

Centennial golf teams up

NORMAL – Robb Cozad and Billy Regan combined to shoot a 71 to lead Centennial to a first-place finish at the Normal Better Ball in boys' golf on Saturday.

"Our second and third scores came in low. Me and Billy knew we were going to come in low," Cozad said.

URBANA – Clark Schmidt fired a 4-under-par 32 and teammate Ian Tate added a 2-under 34 to lead St. Thomas More to a dual victory against Clinton in boys' golf action Wednesday at Stone Creek Golf Club.

ONARGA – Katie Jean's 36 and Megan Deedrich's 39 carried St. Thomas More to a 21-stroke win at the Timberwolf Invitational on Tuesday at Shagbark Golf Course.

Bunnies use preseason rankings as motivation

Preseason expectations weren't great for Fisher's volleyball team. In a survey of coaches from the Heart of Illinois Conference, the Bunnies were picked to finish 10th in the 13-team league.
