N-G Teams of the Week

BISMARCK-HENNING VOLLEYBALL

Susan Kentner has built a powerhouse in Vermilion County, the Blue Devils racking up five straight county titles. B-H last week won its regional to run its winning streak to 17 matches, an impressive feat no matter who you're playing against. It's a program that can serve as a model for others in the area, one built on integrity and consistency.

URBANA UNI BOYS' CROSS-COUNTRY

The Illineks captured their first sectional crown in the sport since 1984 when they won the event at PBL on Saturday. Uni has a top-notch runner at No. 1 (Malcolm Taylor) and a solid pack that finished within 53 seconds of one another. With another strong effort at the state meet in Peoria, it wouldn't be surprising to see the Illineks take home a trophy

ST. THOMAS MORE VOLLEYBALL

The Sabers' athletic teams have had an autumn to remember. They added another chapter Saturday when the volleyball team stopped St. Joseph-Ogden 25-23, 25-23 to capture their first regional championship in the sport. Across the board, STM's teams are beginning to emerge as major players in the state

DANVILLE FOOTBALL

Yes, the Vikings' season ended with a 7-0 loss against Big 12 co- champion Normal Community. But the Vikings couldn't have done themselves more proud in defeat. They had a huge edge in first downs and total yards but couldn't find a way into the end zone. No matter. The future is bright. Danville's one of the teams to beat in 2009.
