CHAMPAIGN CENTRAL VOLLEYBALL

Seven years after the school's last regional title in the sport, the Maroons rallied from a one-set deficit to upend Mahomet-Seymour in the Class 3A regional championship match at Rantoul. Setters Maeve Aquino and Audrey Aeilts sparked the comeback.

UNITY FOOTBALL

For the eighth time in the 16 years that Scott Hamilton has been the head coach, the Rockets reached double figures in wins thanks to a first-round playoff conquest of Robinson. Quarterback Dylan Sturgeon accounted for 314 yards and five touchdowns.

MONTICELLO BOYS' CROSS-COUNTRY

Three sophomores, a junior and a freshman were the scoring runners as the Sages qualified for state as the team runner-up in the St. Teresa Class 1A Sectional. Sophomores Steve Schroeder and Luke Zocher were each under 17 minutes for 3 miles

CENTENNIAL BOYS' SOCCER

The Chargers have grown accustomed to playing extra during the postseason. The team survived a four-overtime marathon in the regional final and didn't secure the sectional crown until the final minute of the third OT on Jacob Bushue's penalty kick.
