Teams of the Week: Salt Fork softball enjoys 5-0 week

SALT FORK SOFTBALL

The Storm (5-1) enjoyed a 5-0 week thanks to an offensive attack that generated 75 hits — Camaryn Todd had more than 10 — including home runs by Lea Hall (three) and Emilie McFadden (two). Peyton Meade won three of the games, one by shutout.

G-RF/CHRISMAN BOYS’ TRACK AND FIELD

The Buffaloes won three relays and won six individual events — two by Wyatt Avenatti — to capture team honors in a four-school meet at Catlin. Keenan Butler, Gustavo Manzano, Andy Nicholson and Tyler Owen also won individual events.

RANTOUL BASEBALL

The Eagles (7-2) won four of six games, including a combined two-hitter by Kolton Vermillion and Luke Pannbacker along with a three-hitter by Kyle Flessner and a complete-game two-hitter by Pannbacker. Vermillion won twice for the week.


FISHER GIRLS’ TRACK AND FIELD

Carli Clifton won two individual events and was on two victorious relays as the Bunnies won a five-school meet at Paxton. Olivia Heffernan, Miranda Marry and Gina Masko were all a part of three first-place finishes.
