MAHOMET – On Senior Night at Mahomet-Seymour, junior running back Andrew Brewer did what he does best.

The Bulldogs racked up 508 yards on the ground in a 64-19 win against Rantoul at Dutton Field.

"We wanted to throw a little bit and try to get some more balance," M-S coach Tom Shallenberger said.

But it was hard for M-S as Brewer had 12 carries for 280 yards and three touchdowns in the first half, before finishing with 338 yards and four touchdowns to raise his area-leading total to 29 on the season.

Taveria Lawrence returned the opening kickoff 86 yards for a touchdown for Rantoul, but everything was downhill for the Eagles after that as M-S ran off 43 straight points.

Lawrence added a 57-yard touchdown run in the second quarter, but the Eagles were held to 184 yards of total offense.

"I thought we took a big step defensively this game," Shallenberger said. "Hopefully we'll continue to get better."

The Bulldogs got a chance to play all 28 seniors in their final home game.

"To have 28 seniors is pretty impressive in itself," Shallenberger said. "They all like each other and get along. It's been a pleasure coaching them."
