STM's Strauser picks Purdue

CHAMPAIGN — St. Thomas More's John Strauser will play his college football at Purdue.

"It was a good fit, I had a good gut feeling when I went to campus. The university as a whole was the best fit for me," Strauser said Monday.

He also had offers from Illinois, Pittsburgh, Army and Northern Illinois.

The 6-foot-4, 245-pound linebacker/defensive end will be the third of David and Dolly Strauser's boys to play college football. Matt, a 2010 STM graduate, played at Princeton before a back injury ended his career. David, a 2011 STM grad, is an offensive lineman at Penn. Dad played at Wisconsin. Mom was an athlete, too, running track for the Badgers.
