PBL stays unbeaten

PAXTON — In a battle of two 2-0 teams in the SVC, Paxton-Buckley-Loda came out on top at a misty Zimmerman Field.

"We got the job done," PBL head coach Jeff Graham said. "We're happy with that. We cherish every win."

The Panthers scored on their first possession, capping an 80-yard drive with a 1-yard TD run by Weston Weber. Josh Hopkins returned an interception 47 yards to increase PBL's lead to 15-0 with 5:49 remaining in the second quarter.

"That was a big help to us. That gave us a little bit of a charge, and we needed that," Graham said.

Drew Schrodt led PBL with 93 yards rushing. Weber was 2-of-5 passing with both completions going to Schrodt.

Trent Wooten recorded two sacks for PBL while Hopkins also made six tackles.
