Ex-Parkland athletes moving on

CHAMPAIGN — Two former area athletes, who recently completed their sophomore seasons at Parkland College, have committed to continuing their basketball careers at four-year universities.
Former Judah Christian athlete Uzuri Williams is headed to North Central College, in Naperville. As a sophomore for Parkland’s 24-8 team, she played in 30 games, starting seven. Williams averaged 6.3 points, 3.9 rebounds and 0.6 assists per game.
Former Unity athlete Lauren Grubb has committed to Iowa Wesleyan University, in Mount Pleasant. As a Parkland sophomore, Grubb started 17 of the 24 games in which she played. She averaged 5.8 points, 1.6 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game. She hit 67 percent of her free throws and nailed 10 three-pointers.
